Since he got the boot by the Republic I'd imagine he's applied for every football league job that has became available.

Which says something.

I bought a book of classic Private Eye covers once and one showed a sunken ship with just the bridge showing out of the water, refering to one useless politician handing over to the next equally hopeless politician as Prime Minister. With a few changes of words in the speech bubble, it could read..."OK you can take over now Steve"
If ever a club looked to be on it's deathbed and the prognosis terminal, with a life expectancy of seven months, THIS IS IT!

I feel bad for them. Ha, a few quotes on him from waccoe......

"They're down.
Tuesday will be interesting."

"Grumpy, humourless get who doesn't believe in keeping clean sheets.
Good luck Darlo. "

"Defensive coach? How did that one pan out...
Not one person springs to mind that had a decent word to say about him."

"Looking back it's quite worrying.
You could see that our team, defence especially had :censored: all confidence. Scary how a little Irish prick could damage what should have been a promotion winning team."

My original reaction when I found out Neale Cooper was our new manager...

"Who's he?"

After those two play-offs, I took that comment straight back...

We all said that. I think we all said the same about Mike Newell as well.

Imelda Staunton has more chance of getting Darlo to the playoffs.

Yeah, but Warwick, I didn't even realise Neale Cooper had won a European title with Aberdeen.

What I meant was, it's very easy for Darlo to write off their chances of staying up with this manager, but you don't know what is around the corner. I was trying to use Cooper as an example.

Well, no, I was trying to make a satirical point there about how fickle us football supporters can be.

The real moment when I realised that Neale Cooper was a good manager for us...was when we unfairly got rid of him. banghead

He'll be a big help, as his points tally as a League Manager amounts to Zero.

It's his first job in League Football. So it's obvious his points tally will be zero. Paul Ince took over Macclesfield with no managerial experience in the Football League too. I don't get what your point is?

It could go either way, but isn't that the case with every managerial appointment?

I dont see what the problem is, yes he has no league experience as a manager but if we got one with experience then its because he's been sacked by someone else. Tubby isnt exactly known as being a good manager at any other club than Hartlepool, even then hes not exacly popular with all of you lot. As it stands we were going down anyway so theres nothing else to lose really. If we stay up then its been a succesful appointment.

Could well be the case, they probably had a good idea that the job could be made available sooner rather than later.
