1-3 , see Humphreys is in the team again, he must have been left back. Thread.

It's disappeared. Just wondering why.

Didn't get chance to see if there were any more posts to it.

It seems if some people don't like a thread, they delete it or lock it refred

And it don't matter if anyone else wants to talk about it on this FANS FORUM

May I refer my learned colleague to the disclaimer on the forum selection page

"This is a private forum and does not come with a guarantee of free speech. New and continued membership is entirely at the administrators' discretion."

So if we can't really complain if any of the Admin bring down or lock a thread can we.... sctatchinghead

No really, if you don't like it, don't bother with it.

And remember it was an admin who put in the smilies so you could make your barbed and cutting edge remark. They're not here to make sure you're satisfied.

The original post, and couple of replies I saw were neither offensive or derogatory. Someone (and as pointed out an administrator) started a thread were blame was apportioned to a certain player.

The thread was posted at 4:54, about the time James Linington was blowing the full time whistle. Some people , me included, responded in a well mannered way. I can't comment on later posts , as I have said, I not seen them due to the thread being deleted.

It seems to me that some contributors on here can say things against the team/players/management/even owners, but when some others (once more me and maybe some others) disagree with those then the simple solution for some is to delete the thread.

If no replies had been posted against the "1-3 thread, Humphreys back in the team was he playing left back" would it have been deleted ?, if the thread had carried on supporting the original post would it have been deleted ?

This is a forum to discuss opinions, and as a whole I respect other's opinions, but the one to delete a thread, for whatever reason, unless legal, is out of order.

I have always posted against other's having a go at the team following a defeat, when the post has started, as in this case, when the final whistle has been blown and as this was an away game some 350 miles away, I felt a response was required and only fair. I will carry on doing so, when it's obvious the thread, no matter who has started it is simply because of a dislike for some player and based on ABSOLUTELY NO FACT AT ALL.

Bob, do you really need to pontificate so pretentiously and self righteously? In fact I bow down at the keyboard of the invariably correct. Tell you what, feel free to pay for this thing then I'll take that sort of post a little more seriously.

Damn right I've got a problem with that player and its nothing to do with his ability or otherwise to kick a football.

I know the reason, you have a problem with the player who was mentioned in the deleted thread, and fully understand, to the point when you explained it to me at an away game I agreed with your reasons for the dislike towards him.

What I disagree with, and in a way your agreeing with me, is you dont have a problem with his ability to kick a football as you put it. So surely by posting any threads that have nothing to do with that ability to kick a football is wrong. You blamed him for the defeat yesterday, on his football skills , and from a performance you had not seen.

There's many footballers I dislike, from things reported in the press, from actions I have seen in live games and games on tv, but skill wise I would still have in a Pools team. Then as a Pools player support them, surely having the best players available to a team is what all supporters want.

You state my post is pretentious and self righteous that was not the intention, we disagree on many aspects of football and other subjects, but I have always respected your opinion.

My point is that if you (or anyone) wants to post a thread on anything then surely some actual facts should be used.

Your an intelligent man and must surely see where I'm coming from.

Thanks Bob, as always a reasoned response. I'm afraid I can't seperate the football from the disloyalty to a bloke who needed support. I was completely disgusted when I heard him bragging and to be honest, If he scored the winning goal for Pools in the FA Cup final I couldn't bring myself to cheer. Probably best if I don't comment at all in future.

Who am I going to have in depth debates with if you dont comment in the future. Like the rights and wrongs of Thatcher (depending which view you take) it's just something we have to agree to disagree with.

I might see you in the Mill Tuesday or Friday before the games, we'll have a pint.

And actually the deleting of the original post got my back up more than the responses on here. you put your opinion I put mine ,other's did same (which I didnt see all of), and I just wanted to know why someone had deleted it.

Then I take back my original "what happened" question, it was your post you had the right to have it deleted.

If someone put a post on this board discussing the grading size of turnips in Lincolnshire and it was deleted because it was mind numbingly pointlessness ...someone would be on demanding its reinstatement.

I think its more of an attempt to stop this board going down 'the rivals path'.
When threads get tedious and abusive there's no point in them continuing.
Like it or lump it mate. Thems the rules.
