The American word for football beginning with s is banned I think.

verbalkint man - chill the fook out

if you type in the word s0ccer, in it's normal form, it gets changed to football.

This is automatic, no one is physically changing it.

according to this, its been around since the 19th century as a nickname of asSOCiation football.

I know the answer, I've studied this at Uni.

The word "s0ccer" was brought into use in the English language through a small and not very interesting local newspaper circa 1967. it was a spelling mistake and should have said "football " and junior reporter, Roy Kelly put his mistake down to being not very good at his job.

My great gran who lived in the town her whole life and pre-dated Pools by a good few years always called football s*ccer. Apparently this was because the eggchasers at Rovers, who beat Pools into existence by a couple of decades, always called themselves a football club, footballers etc. The beautiful game arrived later and the s*ccer word was used so that people knew who you were on about.

If you'd called her American she would have denounced you as a rarf. We should reclaim the s word from the cultural imperialist yankees! Or maybe not.
