One of life's great mysteries is how those poncy looking mods managed to kick the fook out of the 'ard as nails rockers.
Unless the secret was in numbers.

P.S. Ace Face had the only Vespa amid a sea of Lambrettas.

That's right!!!!

Wasn't that because he'd made being a mod everything in his life & he couldn't hack it when he realised nobody else did? Finding out the Face was a bell boy - a nobody - drove him over the edge (literally!!!)

That help Mr Bandage?

Knew it was deep & meaningful

Thanks Sarf clappp

It think it was rather a case of him NOT being as far into moddism as his mates. He was never the one whe started the fights. He was really pissed off when his motorbike mate got beat up.

He made himself too many illusions about the girl he made out with. He was in love with her from the outset but she was inaccessible because she was the mod leader's girl. Then when he finally did get a crack at her it lasted only as long as a shag in an alley while everyone else was fighting or toying with the the plods. Then almost as soon as they got back home she was off bonking his mate without so much as a goodbye or thank you.

He went back to Brighton or Ramsgate or wherever to find the spot where he'd shagged her and indulge in a last bit of nostalgia when he came across Ace's Vespa by accident. He would have got over the disappointment but that's when the blue pills kicked in and I guess he wanted to make some kind of point.
