 Post subject: The Perfect Chip!!!!
PostPosted: Thu Jan 11, 2007 6:19 pm
I've just made the perfect Chips and they are the best I've ever tasted....EVER!!!!

Here's how to do it following top Chef Heston Blumenthal's recipie for the perfect Chip....

First cook the chips in water until they're almost falling apart....drain them off and put them in the fridge.
When they're cold, cook them in groundnut oil....(I've just used beef dripping)....at 130'c.
Cook them until they take on a dried appearence on the outside, before they take on any colour.
Then put them in the fridge again to go cold.
Finally cook them in the oil again at 190'c!!!!

It's a bit of a faff on but I tell you....it's worth it!!!! :sweet: :sweet:

After the first cook in the oil and they are in the fridge....you can cook them for the last time anytime you want....they will keep for quite a few days so you can cook them in advance!!!!

They only taste good because by the time you finally get to eat them you're starving

First time I have seen fantastic and Joannas in the same sentence, but it is more than likely to be open

I am not sure where will be open. You could try Oxford Road or Wynyard Road they are both better than average.

I was just about to say the same!!!!

The 'Chips'....I use the word loosely....are the bits at the bottom of a frozen bag of chips from Joannes but the good thing about Joannes....you get at least 2 Free Black Hairs included for no extra charge!!!!

I've stopped going after the last 2 visits!!!!
