I've read all sorts of rantings.

Picking a football team is not as simple as people think. Believe it or not players train. In training some players may peform really well, some players may peform badly, some may look tired and some may pick up injuries.

Team vs. Burnley.
1 Scott Flinders
2 Steve Haslam
3 Peter Hartley
4 Ritchie Jones
5 Sam Collins
6 Gary Liddle
7 Leon McSweeney
8 Antony Sweeney
9 Denis Behan
10 Adam Boyd
11 Andy Monkhouse

Team vs. Norwich.
1 Scott Flinders
2 Steve Haslam
3 Peter Hartley
4 Ritchie Jones
5 Sam Collins
6 Gary Liddle
7 Leon McSweeney
8 Antony Sweeney
9 Denis Behan
10 Colin Larkin
11 Andy Monkhouse

He made one change. Larkin for Boyd. There are many possibilities to why he dropped Boyd (he thought two games would be too much him, he had a minor injury, he thought Larkin was better equiped for the match etc) Larkin did well when he came on as a sub against Burnley.

Brown was injured midweek and I'll hazard a guess and say that he hadn't trained much as a result. Brown only made his first start against Gillingham and then gets injured. You've got to protect him a little bit.

Turner knows Brown is our best player, he's not stupid.

The way we played was utter shite. Maybe those players that all peformed well against Burnley had an off day?

To say you have concerns over Turner is fair enough but for people to be wanting Turner out is insane.

You missed something out, Mr G. Ability to adapt to the prevailing conditions.
I wasn't at the game on Tues so can only go by what I read on the board which basically said the same team (with one notable exception) more than matched Burnley on Tuesday.
What I can't understand is how the same players seem incapable of understanding that, in a swirling wind, against two big centre halves ( one of whom we know lacks pace) insisted on ballooning the ball on to the heads of the Norwich centre backs instead of getting the ball on the floor & running at them - a skill that we know from experience our players are more than capable of.

Which is basically the question I've sent to Turner.

I too didnt notice this whirlwind. Yes it was windy, But I'm pretty sure it was a lot, lot windier for the Charlton game. Were on the coast so a whirlwind has got to be expected

Its always windy up here, using the wind is a piss poor excuse, you got it wrong turner, people would repsect you more for admitting that.

It's usually opposing managers who blame the wind. They shouldn't have baked beans for pre-match meals.

We tend to get a better result when it lashes down or in front of a small crowd amazing this.

I dont get to a lot of the home games due to being down south and I have noticed either the performances are better when we play to a small croud or the reports (on here) are written by the core fan base people who have went to the match and have half a brain about football.
