I managed to stumble upon these highlights of a game against darlo where we got stuffed 4-0. I remember being at the game as I was embarrassed walking away from the game. I think it was the first time that I had seen the Loids beat us.

A dreadful performance but it shows how far we have come like!

I don't think Benny Worth played for us again after that match, he did have a bust up with Minty Murray in the dressing room, FACT!

PS

You seem to get embarrassed quite easily, is it a confidence thing

The thing is those weren't really the bad old days, we did OK in League One that season and Alan Murray was building a good team until the club imploded!

We knocked them out of the cup a few weeks later and they went down*

*That was the last time we visited Darlo to play them outside of the Fourth Division, in fact it was probably the only time.

 LOL I dont think so but it was a truly dreadful performance. I hadnt been supoorting Pools that long and it was the first time I saw us get a 'drubbing'. For it to happen against the loids was an awful experience! I was only a kid at the time.

I remember it was the egg chasing World Cup Final on the afternoon (our match was an early kick off because of it) we lost that as well

Aye, I often think of that 'fact' nowadays when I look at the respective league tables

Still, no matter, you lot will be out of business by December, me & Mutley will be dancing in the streets

I think that performance encouraged us to loan Ellison the next season.

He was one the worst players to ever wear the Blue and White! Wierd because he went from being promising to Northern League in a season.

You still got relegated though, rare footage of Darlo not playing in the Fourth Division it's probably worth something!

I also remember walking out of that game just after half-time. Our defence certainly had an off-day - John McPhails 20 yard own goal was a shocker.
