my putah keeps freezing, or millions (well not millions) of 'new' screens appear, pop pups the lot and then the fooking thing closes down internet explorer!! WTF is going on? I have Norton, I have pop up blocker on

Start > Run > services.msc , Turn off messenger service and stop it also if you can find it in the list. See if that helps

Cheers MJ the pint is now yours! It seems I have a'premium' version of Ad-Aware but when I try to run it it tells me the license is invalid and missing, I have been into add and remove programmes but cannot find anything there (I was going to uninstall and then install the Google version)

Any Ideas for pint no 2?

Anyone know any good anti virus programs that are also free. I currently have the free edition of AVG but this is supposed to run out sometime next month.

have you tried using mozilla firefox for your browser instead of internet explorer it is a lot better and its free :grin:

Have you updated your windows installation? one of the updates is a pop up blocker. In Internet Explorer click 'tools' followed by windows update and follow the instructions.
