Couldn't agree more - I admit I had my doubts when I first saw him but I thought he was excellent last night. Never missed a tackle and his passing almost always found a Pools player. Totally comitted to the cause as well clappp

To be fair to the other full back Haslam, he also did very well. Their left winger was like lightning and had plenty of tricks up his sleeve and I thought after the first five minutes he was going to have a field day. But, to Haslam's credit (and with McSweeneys assistance) he kept the lad largely out of the game after that. Well done son...

there were a few guys round me saying they thought Hartley wasnt up to the cause to fill the left back slot! I said at that point he is a young lad, who has played very little 1st team football when at Sunderland, give him a chance FFS.

HOwever, by the end of the night whenever people shouted and applauded Hartley these w***ers bowed their heads.

He has the potential to turn into a quality full back and like previously stated a LEGEND at this club. Keep up the hard work Pedro.

The full squad also proved last night. put in hard work and reap the benefits. Also it is nice to keep the nob heads who say they are pools fans quiet that like to slate affairs as soon as there is anything not going to plan.

After last nights performance the season looks bright

I have only seen him play twice and he did not have the best of games on those occasions so hopefully they were just off days. Hopefully he will develop given his age and perform as he apparently did last night on a consistent basis.
At least we know that we have Austin to help keep the right back and left back on their toes. The strength in depth should bode well when the games come thick and fast over winter.

The lad had never played a game at this level before this month, and only a dozen games on loan in League 2. Of course he needs time to get used to it, but last night he was awesome which is very encouraging

I though he was brilliant. I've seen him play 3 times now and he has got better and better on each performance. He looks like the best left back we've had at the club for a hell of a long time and I'm sure he will only get better with more games under his belt.
I was pleased to see Monkhouse getting back and giving him a helping hand as he didn't do too much of that against Bristol Rovers.
Well done Peter, keep up the good work clappp clappp clappp

he had a great game, although needs some serious practice taking throw-ins!
