He used to be with them as a youngster & is replacing Shane Supple who has retired from football at the grand old age of 23 (not injury related).

Sounds like a short term thing while they find someone to replace Supple who, as Hawklord said, has retired after "falling out of love with the game."

Keane has history in signing rubbish keepers - didn't he pay 8.5 million for craig gordon when most people in scottish footballl thought he was worth about 750k?

might have something to do with fitness,its probably a big step up from playing for cork to a championship club
