Granted I wasnt at the match but spoke to people who were and I take on board all the problems with the defence which in my eyes is due to not having a defensive midfielder. Anyway when the fixture list came out everyone on here said that we had a hard start to the season and after 5 games we would be lucky to have 3 points. Nothing has changed we will pick up points following the first 6 games and be ok, the performance at MK Dons and what I heard from coventry says to me that we will be in mid table come the end of the season.

Personally I haven't looked into the Coventry too much, they were one of the worse sides in the Championship last season and made seven changes from their opening day win.

If we'd have won 3-0 last night people would be saying we are going to finish in the top 10. As we didn't people are saying we're going to struggle. I'll wait till about 10-15 games in before making sweeping statements about where we're going to finish otherwise you'll be changing your mind every game like people have already

There was definite positives from last night, we played some excellent stuff first half. Behan and Flinders are both good players, better in their positions than anyone we've had for years. Fredriksen looks a good player, though he was poor in the second half....but we were too one dimensional in the seond half everything went to Behans head, too indecisive in defence and need to start taking our chances.
All in all though I think there is reasons to believe we will have a reasonable season.

The reaction so far is a bit of a mixture. There are positives and negatives being voiced side by side.
Personally I think we have more to look forward to than last season, but that doesn't stop me looking at areas that need improvement.
The only reason I do that is because I want us to do well. I want us to continuously expose the weakest link and try to improve it. That in itself exposes another weakest link which in turn has to be addressed. That to me is the only way to progress and we are continuously being told that that is the club's ultimate aim.
I think we will be ok, providing we continuously strive for improvement.
It is certainly too early to go overboard, one way or another.

The problem is that the opening 2 games gave us a false sense of optimism. Didnt the same happen last season?

We do need to give it until October/November before we see if the team 'gel's'.

At least we have a decent keeper which is THE key position for any team. It should not be impossible to get the defence sorted out.

I'm amazed at the lack of negativity, I was presuming it must be in some of the threads I've not read yet. Personally I think that Jones in for Sweeney could make a huge difference to our upcoming performances, coupled with Brown returning to full match fitness and linking up with our player of the season (so far) Denis Behan.

Last season we destroyed two teams who had just been relegated from The Championship. Anyone getting over excited about the first two result this season were a bit short sighted in my opinion, both good results but had to be kept in perspective.
