Thought we were beaten by a far better side. Wouldnt surprise me if Charlton won the league.

Thought Hartley was very poor, doesnt seem able to actually kick a ball. Midfield non existant as usual but Behan looked a class apart. Flinders also looked very comfortable.

At least we wont have to play teams that good every week.

we made them look good by playing with no midfield imho.

Totally agree.
We need a class midfielder and sharpish.

Monkhouse as an attacking force was missing today, but he did try and help Hartley out of the roasting he was getting. Austin looked a bit more solid at left back. Freddie is a wide man and, having seen all three games so far, is not a central midfielder. He should be used as an alternative to Monky, which I believe he was signed for.
James Brown wide right for me, especially at home. If we have two people out wide capable of beating the full backs and then drawing other defenders out, the space created for Boyd and Behan would reap dividends. Behan's control and obvious vision would be put to better use with browny and Freddie/ Monky as out balls.
We did ok in our away games, but we need more attacking flair at home.
I would also like to see Hartley and Liddle in central defence. I just have very little confidence in Collins.

Brown has always been far more effective imo on right wing. Gets more of the ball and more space. However we still struggle to keep hold of the ball through the middle, Sweeney cant hold the ball up or keep hold of it for more than 5 seconds and Fred seemed hit and miss.

Good post, although having only seen Hartley today for the first time I would see both him and collins as liabilities to an extent. obviously if Hartley is much better at centre half then fine.

Yes I agree. Our midfield is a bigger problem area than a lot of people appreciate. If we had been able to compete more today in that area, it would have been a totally different game. There must be someone out there who we can beg, steal or borrow that is capable of breaking up play and push us forward in a productive manner. At the moment we just knock balls aimlessly out of defensive areas and surprise surprise, they just get returned with interest.

What was wrong with Jones today?

One of our big let downs today and last week was we hardly got to any second balls and that allowed them to get at us quickly.
