So after attending both games so far i can safely say im not sure what either turner will do, or i would do if i was asked to pick a starting line up.

Do you stick with the same team that has kept to away clean sheets or do you look to bring in either boyd, brown or larkin who all had a great impact when brought on.

This leaves the problem of the right wing. Do you stick with jones or use mcsweeney who has looked good. then Larkin is another possiblity. Jones played better in the middle and looked shades above the rest of our midfield when switched on wed.

the verdict is i just dont no. what about u lot?

I'd keep the same starting eleven. I don't think Browny is up to starting yet and Boydy isn't fit enough either by the sounds of it, so they can be used to change things in the 2nd half when required...

When i was thinking about it i did sway towards this verdict. Only we looked much more of a goal threat when behan and mcsweeney where not up top. I think Behan is a great signing and i would keep him up top. although mcsweeney looks good when played into wide areas he is not a striker and lacks that cutting edge and ability to make something out nothing.

Both boyd and brown offer a little more up front and we always looked like scoring with them on the pitch. I also feel Brown is ready he looked sharp and on many occasions dazzled the cov defence with his touch. I just feel when where at home we need to attack and look to win the game.

I agree Dan, that with us being at home the onus is on Pools to do a bit more attacking. But, if we can stay solid and not give any daft goals away (unlike last season) we can then look at putting more of an attacking threat on in the last half an hour or so. A 1-0 win would be great - I am just as much hoping for another good defensive display as well as the attacking side, especially against such decent opposition.

i just want 3 points. Its still early in the season and Charlton have showed no more or less than anyone else. They are there for taking. by sitting back at home i feel we are showing them to much respect. Go out at home attack and show the so-called big teams that there no diffrent to Hartlepool or yeovil.

JohnnyMars ... is that a new avatar? There was a thread on here recently about the hardest bloioke ever to play for Pools. As Cloughie would say Billy Ayre would have been in the top one. He was rock and it was such a tragedy that he died so young.

It is indeed the great Billy Ayre. I saw him play many times for Pools (and a few times against us as well). He represents everything I love about Pools - we might not have much money but we have character and always make a fight of it. A great man and a sad loss to the game. clappp

McSweeney wont be playing up front or part of a 4-5-1 formation at the Vic, So I reckon Boydy or Larkin up front with Behan. Although Boydy scored the goal, Larkin looked very impressive when he came on on Wednesday. Bags of pace and the ball into the box for Boyd for the goal was top notch. That either means :

[1] Jones dropped to the bench with McSweeney going Right Wing
[2] Boyd / Larkin in for McSweeney, McSweeney on the bench
[3] Fredriksen / Sweeney on the bench and Jones Centre Mid and McSweeney Right Wing

Its great that we have this choice. If its the 3rd choice, It would be very harsh on any of the midfielders, But makes you realise we have a very strong squad. Even Larkin after his impressive spell on the field will be very unfortunate not to get a starting place!
