4-0 now 27 minutes, poor Kev he doesn't need this at his age.

Mind we'd have conceded at least four if he hadn't been in goal that night at Stockport, best ever performance by a Pools keeper?

Best Pools goalie performance I've seen that's for sure.
The night made memorable by the fact that I got talked into giving a lift to Stockport to a well known Poolie "personality" who, once we arrived, quickly got arrested and it was gone four in the morning before the police released him. We didn't dare head back without him. Interestingly the Stockport police station is right around the corner from the Strawberry Studios where the Stone Roses recorded much of their early stuff.

Probably the best goalkeeping performance I can remember and would also qualify as best debut I've seen for Pools as well

Was it as good as Dimi's vs Tranmere, Colletts against us and Flahavan against us?

All of those 3 were different gear

"The man with no legs"? I probably still have the issue of Monkey Bizz about somewhere where the front page headline was "Cox has legs - official" on it... As I recall, someone had found a video of a game where Cox WASN'T wearing his trademark tracky bottoms. It was when he was in goal for Huddersfield when they lost 10-1 to Man City.....

Cox was better than what we'd put up with for large parts of the season before, but then again that was Rob Moverley, the rather better Jason Priestly, and Barry Siddall. He was OK as I remember, but only OK - Poole was genuinely good. Borer wouldn't let him go having done well for us though, I think the price went up from 50K to about 200, and then Minty Murray managed to get Hodgey to join us instead.

Martin Hodge away at Stoke was the best 10/10 performance by a Pools goalie ever IMO, Poole's very close behind. Stoke peppered us even more than Stockport did and Hodge saved shot after shot, header after header that seemed impossible to save!!! At tyhe end of the match there were around 17,000 Stoke fans giving him a standing ovation - that's how good he was!!!

I agree about Hodge at Stoke being the best performance ever in the Pools number 1 shirt (that I ve seen over my 26 seasons as a Poolie).

However I do believe Collett at Feethams was probably the best performance by a keeper - probably ever - probably anywhere. That day we gave Darlington the derby beating of all time and didn't win. He was unbelievable before he broke his hand, but to carry on in exactly the same fashion afterwards was incredible.

Met him two years ago. Called him a 'see you next tuesday'.
