I'm over the moon with that like.
Very promising start to go to the play-off finalists and draw 0-0.

Pools get a good point.
Nelson's defence lets 7 in.
Swindon let 5 in
Darlo get beat.
Can't remember a first day of the season like this since we went to Peterboro.

To be truthful I expect us to get hammered. With Ince at the reigns and I think more or less the team which got to the play offs its a great result.

I was bricking it just before kick off thinking our awful away record would let us down. Over the moon with that.

I'm happy with the draw. First games of the season are always tricky.

Mr Tree, what did he ever do outside of playing?? He's a bloody disaster, much like that cockney twat who was at Leeds, Dennis Wise.

If it had been Di Matteo we'd have got slaughtered today. clappp

A good point - well put about Di Matteo. Under Di Matteo MK played some stylish football, under Ince they played some niggly football, plenty of petty fouls, especially by Easter.

Based on what evidence. None whatsoever.

I can say if Di Matteo had been in charge we would have won but I have no evidence to prove it.

You can only beat , lose or draw with whats in front of you.

We got a good point today, take nothing away from our performance by saying it COULD have been different with a different manager in charge of the opposition.

Based on last season where we got caned 3-1 both times and one of the goals we scored was an O.G. Under Matteo. Paul Ince is not Di Matteo.

Good to see you've noticed the changes at Mk Dons. Now have a look at our set up.

Teams 14th feb 2009

MK Dons

Gueret
Regan ,Stirling ,Llera ,Lewington
Johnson ,Chadwick ,Navarro ,Puncheon ,
Baldock ,Gerba
HUFC
Lee-Barrett
Sweeney ,Nelson ,Collins ,Humphreys
Foley ,Liddle ,Rowell ,Monkhouse
Lange ,Henderson
Teams 8th Aug 2009
MK Dons
Gueret
Doumbe ,Darren Powell ,McCracken ,Woodards ,
Chadwick ,Carrington ,Howell ,Puncheon
Easter ,Johnson
HUFC
Flinders
Haslam ,Liddle ,Collins ,Hartley ,
McSweeney ,Sweeney ,Jones ,Fredriksen ,Monkhouse ,
Behan

MK team yesterday consisted of 4 players from previous game

HUFC team consisted of 4 players from previous meeting

So from that you could say if you wanted we had strengthened better in the close season. As our 7 new players got us a result while there 7 new players turned a 3-1 victory into a 0-0 draw.

You still cant say that DI Matteo(if in charge) would have won yesterday's game simply because he won previous 2, if that was case some managers would never play their teams against Man U on the grounds that they have never beaten Ferguson.

I'm not on here to defend Di Matteo, but I'm sure he wouldn't have brought in the same players as Ince has since he's been there, just the same as Turner bringing in different players from Wilson.
For me, on yesterdays showing MK played much the same as Ince did when he played, niggly, petty fouls, disruptive and irritating.

To answer the original question, I feel fantastic about yesterday, but not better, as I have evry confidence in the squad assembled by CT.

I dont expect miracles nor the play offs, but i am sure as hell looking forward to the next game. I havent been able to say that for 3 years.

We have had plenty to moan about both and off the pitch for two years, but now we have nothing, NOTHING, to moan about on the pitch.

Its been a great rebuilding summer, the anticipation is back, the excitement is back, and the realism is back.

I expect nothing but a very hard season with plenty of defeats along the way. But I am happy because the club, under CT, has returned closer to us all. Its foookin great.

Great. Foookin great.

We got the Mill House back last season thanks to Dave, Nobb and the girls, and now we have a manager that cares, and the club are listening.

Its foookin great.

That is all. Doubters and moaners need not respond.

See you all at the party on saturday.

I still say that the likelihood is that MK Dons would be a better team with Di Matteo in charge, and would therefore have performed better, ergo winning the game.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very pleased with the result but I thought when Di Matteo went that they wouldn't be the team they were last season. If Gus Poyet was still at Leeds they wouldn't be in this division either.
