first things first, cheers Kev!!!! Toppermost gadgie!!

Bands: [in order of brilliance]

Field Music - superb, singer and drummer changed over halfway thru + theyre both as good as each other on their instruments [musical  ].this to me is very impressive

Maximo Park - again fantastic, atmosphere amazing with the crowd singing all the words. Graffitti stand out song

The Fall - fan-f ucking-tastic!! smith turns up late, grumps and growls his way around the stage, turns amps up shoves mic's in drums, over-runs his timeslot and insists his band play 1 more song.when they start it he walks off!! legend!

Duels - wasnt on my list but I'm sooo glad i caught them, 1 song very nearly reduced me to tears. this to me is impressive!

Arctic Monkeys - wasnt expecting to like them that much, and like the album they are quite hit n miss, but the hits!!! really enjoyable.kids loved em. they look like they are about 13 tho. this to me is depressing!!

The Racontuers - really, really good! tent wasnt as rammed as i thought it would be mind.... anyway, these are deffo a 'Jack White' band. stand out song their cover of Bang Bang[?nancy sinatra thing] + steady as she goes

Franz Ferdinand - great show. this is all. lights/tunes/atmosphere

Placebo - a real blast from the past, and a great gig! stand out song Nancy Boy

The Streets - plain good time fun band. enjoyed em despite dry yer eyes mate...

The Futureheads - sound got lost a bit. still love em tho. stand out song Carnival Kids

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - were almost great, karen o being pissed didnt help them much. maps was sooooooooooo slow and quiet, but still great!

Fields - read about em on sat morn in't NME decided to give em a whirl, started off great and the 1st 3 songs were cracking, but then it decended into sameyness. this to me is disappointing

Kaiser Chiefs - hits aside, awful! cant remember 1 tune other than 'riot' or.......singers a mong too.introduced by peter kay [Kaiser???! Chiefs??!!] this to me says PK has ran out of ideas

Little Man Tate - shi te.

Pearl Jam - saw 3 songs...utter shite!!

Weather:

great untill the monsoon late on sunday!

Beer:
copious!!!! cheers Kev!!

Fairground:

my God!!! terrifying!! went on a ride with jack, big horrible twirly thing that sends you right high up and upside down...I screamed and went 'FoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKKKkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk all the way round, when we got off jack says 'you swore a lot there dad!'
yeah! i thought i was gonna die!!!

totally brilliant weekend, roll on next year!!!!

roll on next year indeed - seeing as I didnt go to this one. Was asked to go along by a friend but thought it was taking the mick with a two month (now five) old baby. Our lass would probably have changed the locks.
Thanks for the write-up. Looks like Field Music should definitely be one to look forward to.
Not bothered by Raconteurs. Yeah yeah yeah's I would have loved to have seen. A friend has bought me back a Gogol Bordello t-shirt and two hash lollipops. I dont expect the lollies to work whatsoever so hopefully I might be even a little bit surprised.

comedy which doesn't poke fun at someone by using personal abuse isn't funny to me. I am very simple minded and a quite appalling bloke all round. So that's what makes my sense of humour what it is. I am a c-un-t.

MJ, I had guillemots, clap your hands and primal scream on my list, but couldnt manage em with the kids...well, i seen a bit of guillemots but not enough to really form an opinion!same as primals, saw em on the screen but it looked chocka and i'd never get em in there....pity like

I agree with you about arctic monkeys, they're a bit hit n miss - which is what their albums like innit? but the good bits were really good and the kids love em,well theyre about the same age!!

I saw about five minutes of them but by that time I was cold and knackered so I went back to base.

They were OK but I saw them earleir in the summer in Hyde Park and thought them very good.
