 Post subject: wireless internet

does any one know much about this new technology. is it best to stick with your current internet service provider and get a wireless set up with them, or buy a wireless modem and do it yourself confised


rage rage rage rage i opted to buy a wireless router and try myself big mistake think i'll try going with me ISP orange wireless

If you are happy with the performance of your current supplier then stick with it. Installing a wireless router is childs play and they are only about 30 40 quid now.

Alternatively, talk to your current supplier and tell them you are considering changing because someone else is offering you a free wireless router. Bet they give you one free too..

I was with Wanadoo (now Orange) - I got their modem but bought a Linksys router. It works fine but before I can connect wirelessly I have to switch to 'wireless zero configuration' manually every time I switch on. Other than that it all seems to work fine. Sometimes quicker than others but once connected it works ok.

i am using a linkys router and have no such problems why not reinstall it

i bought a linksys router and cant get it sorted, from what i understand orange and aol hire there routers in with the price you never actually own them

you have a problem in the installation if you need to do something when you connect. Reinstall is definitely the first step.

i use my router with ntl but my daughter has orange broadband and i use a usb wireless connector with that as a back up
