Silly question I know but If we could have one player from the past 20 years (including loanees) to play in our current side who would it be?

At first I was thinking about Rob Mckinnon (first spell) for obvious reasons but then started thinking about Jan as the holding player or Dean Emerson. Monty as a centre half would be nice.

For entertainment then St Brian / Jan-Ove / Boyd at his best.

But to make the biggest improvement to this team Martin Hodge / Russell Bradley or Nelson before he lost it.

Addie Mike or Kona Hislop for comedy value.

I thought the same when POK named them 2 but then decided it was tongue in cheek in response to Canham, who is up there as one of worst Pools players IMHO, though he tortured us many times when in the York team

Is the correct answer, just the the bite in midfield we're missing.

If I was being greedy I'd have two him and Rob McKinnon, because he wasn't a bad left back was he?

Well, I didn't intend to act like a "rarf" there.

That was actually supposed to be a genuine attempt at a suggestion of a response to the original question.

Watty Moore. Great centrehalf.

You are aware that the the original question wasn't; Name some of our worst players from the last 20 years, aren't you!?

Brian 'Trapper' Drysdale, one of the best left backs, we've ever had.

Id probably say Jan Ove Pedersen.

Paul Dalton, Tommy Miller, Chris Beech.

Shame we never saw the best of Steve Howard, wasn't he getting grief for not being good enough before he left too

He did get a fair bit of grief (for a change, not by me I would like to add!). The problem was that he was playing in a godawful team and was also playing in midfield a lot of the time. Had he played as a striker in a good team with plenty of supply he would have done much better.

Tough one......

Barron for leadership.
Tinkler for his grit and bite.
Pedersen for his quality.
Watson for the siege mentality which we've so badly lacked the last few seasons.

It's a shame that my lasting memory of McKinnon was when he re-signed ie. overweight and slow, well past his best. Top, top player in his earlier years at the club

welcome aboard.

Cracking team that one, although not sure about Graeme lee being in there. Would have to be Macphail for me.

Agreed, and I would probably find room for Andy Saville, Hodgy on the bench and have Emerson rather than Brown.

Not my best player of all time but given our current situation it would be Mark Tinkler. Not only did the man have bite, but in his prime he could go box to box, pick a pass, score lots of goals, as well as being very good in the air too. (I could be describing Bryan Robson there)
Given the fact he was versitile then (Midfield & centre back) without doubt he'd be the player I'd like to see lining up against MK on Sat
