Having seen only 3 of the friendlies so far, it still bit close to call. I do think we can surprise some teams whether they be the so called "big teams" in the division is another thing. We do, on paper have a difficult start so if we can pick up some points that will be a bonus, but to have a reasonable season, we need to beat the teams ,who on paper, before a ball is kicked will be in our "grouping" in the league. hopefully a mid to low mid table finish. 12th to 16th.

I would be very happy with midtable but without some above average signings (and maybe a new manager) we will struggle to stay up. Losing Porter will result in fewer goals scored unless browny has a stormer (a LOT rests on him) and while the new keeper should hopefully be an improvement, the defence will take a while to gel so I can see us conceding just as many.

Going to struggle. no doubt about it. I'm hoping that some of the mentality that made the Vic such a fortress returns, but to be honest i think that was down to a vociferous pools crowd and that is a thing of the past. No Joel will hurt us, unless like Chip and others say JB hits the ground running. We need an inspirational signing for me..... What is Dean Emmerson doing these days? Predicting what Pools will do from week to week is hard enough, so I consider predicting a full season to be nigh on impossible.
I'll stick firmly on the fence and hope. I still think the squad needs further strengthening to make me feel comfortable, especially at left back.

Having read another thread with Tree's post getting deleted, I think there needs to be action taken "against" deleting threads (unless they're highly inflammatory or illegal) - otherwise the whole point of the board is defeated.
And there isnt any point reading it or posting anymore.
I've not been negative but this needs sorting out and stopping immediately...

There was only one culprit. Yes of course admin have the ability to delete posts, occasionally I do it myself but not too often. Thats the point you see, they should only be used when absolutely neccesary.

As you all know I returned back onto the board during the start of my new job last year as now got access to the computer. The last couple of months there has been a shift in the board bickering and pettiness has been rife (I put it down to the close season personally) this isnt from new members but past members of the board so this from the mods need to be taken on board by everyone.

I hold my hands up and say I was one of these people jumping on comments made by PoK regarding eurovision, etc (lets not go down that road again) but due to the downfall of rivals lets not turn into a copy of them

I predicted just below midtable last season (not allowing for the bad injuries we got). If we hadn't changed manager I think my prediction wouldn't have been far off.

Before anyone jumps in, I support neither Turner or Wilson, I don't think either are good enough to help us progress (or even maintain our status in league 1).

We scored a lot of goals last season thanks to Joel, this season we won't score as many which means we need to stop people scoring. Unfortunately we haven't got that left back, central defence is suspect and centre midfield is just as vulnerable as last season. I am hoping Fredrikson is the man for that spot, maybe that is just wishful thinking!

If these signings work and we get a left back and we manage to sort out the rest of the defence and CT gets his tactics right we may just finish around 14th mark.

Here's hoping!!
