I don't want to see any more midfield players come through the door until at least two defenders join. If they do I'll throw this brand new laptop at the fcking wall.

Has anyone got a list of players that Turner has signed either on loan or permanently since he took over? I reckon it must be around about 12-15. I reckon about 3 of them are defenders which given the defensive record he inherited is very very worrying.

list all the 21 year olds in their first full season that come in and are superb consistently for an entire season ? even james brown had dips in form in his first season.

because he came from man utd some people expected him to be consistently brilliant.

kid is still learning his craft and wasnt helped by tubbs playing him as a winger, which he definitely isnt.

as previously stated he got through 40 odd games last season, thats an awful lot for a lad his age. deffo had potential imho, certainly more than quite a few on the books.

So its ok to say that about Jones, but not about Liddle, double standards creeping in Mr Fireball?

The difference being that Liddle has underperformed pretty much every week for two years whilst Jones has played well regularly for the last year.

I make it 13, though 6 of them came and went

Guy
Henderson
Lange
Parker
Nardiello
Skarz
Boyd
McSweeney
Hartley
Flinders
Austin
Fredriksen
Behan

3 defenders  banghead banghead

"I've read things on the internet about the situation.

"But there's no player in this squad on the transfer list.

"There's nothing more we're going to say about it.

"I will be having a discussion with Ritchie in due course."

Now, I'm usually a big Turner fan, but for him to vehemently deny Jones was rumoured to have have handed in a request, and then for the Club to announce on the website that Jones has handed in a request - that seems quite stupid to me. confised

I think it suggests that Turner may have been trying to deflect attention away from the rumour.

He's handed in a written transfer request, Turner has discussed this with the Chairman, he'll speak to Jones.

He is starting at Gateshead. Nobody is on transfer list, they haven't accepted the request, he won't be leaving on a free transfer. He said all of this on the radio tonight.

'Vehemently denied' he said nothing of the sort. Surely the last quote you have typed actually confirms that he had requested a transfer, how can you not read anything into that?

Dont forget Jones has more potential than most because he was on Man U's books

But what's the difference though between a player handing in a transfer request and being placed on the transfer list?

Surely there is no difference, surely it is the next natural step.

"But there's no player in this squad on the transfer list.

"There's nothing more we're going to say about it."

To me, what Turner was suggesting through what he said before the Club congfirmed the rumours was that nobody's on the transfer list so nobody's handed in a request therefore he is suggesting that these rumours have no truth in them.

He even attempts to brush them off by saying he's read mere "things on the internet", using words which make them sound unimportant.

When you post utter shite like that I really don't know how you have brass neck to accuse anyone of the bringing this board down.

People make an effort to contribute with a bit of substance and you chip in every few posts with a headlander Esq like statement that nobody has ever made. Honestly that is the type of rubbish headlander would get slated for.

No matter how much you deny it if we had signed him from Tow Law as oppose to Man U, no way would people go on about his "potential" and improvement" as much as they do.

FACT.

I wasnt getting at people on this thread in particular but iv heard it loads in pubs/at the grounds etc and im sure you have too.

Nope because I didnt take someones comment and take the piss out of them and call them names.

I made a comment on something to do with the subject title about something I often hear.

It's all utterly pathetic isn't it? Like rivals at it's very worst.

The phrase 'grow up' springs to mind (yes Tree that was directed at you.)

I agree it is utterly pathetic.

Arguing with any comment made simply because of the username.

Well if you think I'm doing that you've got me wrong.

I'll argue with a point if I don't agree with it, surely that's how a message board should work? I argue with my mates who I go to the game with about Pools.

I didnt even give an opinion I made a comment that is often said and as tax has said, was said here a bit about a year ago. Likewise if there was a thread about Mccunnie for example I might say something about long diagonal balls troubling him.

I fail to see how my comment would have gotten as much of a reaction if anyone else said it.

You wont agree so lets leave it at that.

You really are a champion in the tedious inflammatory remark field, you have one prepared for every thread

Can I test you?

Tony Sweeney?

Danny Wilson.... hang on I know this one, he's a 'lovely lovely person' isn't he?

but its right to an extent though isn't it, the fact the Ferguson obviously rated him to an extent as a youngster holds a lot of ground because no matter whether you like him or not, He is one of the all time, top managers. He has brought through several top youngsters in his time and obviously thought something of Jones. We can see it when he plays, he looks like a good prospect, however there seems to be something 'missing' when he plays. I can't quite put my finger on what it is though

Jones obviously didn't like the idea of Turner playing Fredriksen in 'his' position and the proposed move for Healey was also seen as a snub. In this situation some players knuckle down and get on with it and others spit their dummy out. If this is the case then it is best if Pools just let him go and look for someone else - someone who wants to play for Pools.

Maybe Jones has had bad advice from an agent who wants to make a few quid by engineering a move?

If he has his head screwed on right he might listen to Mr Turner if or when they sit and have a chat?

You've gotta remember that he's still only an inexperienced kid both in football terms and life.

doesnt the fact turner told the mail a load of crap at the weekend not make you even slightly dubious that theres more to this than the club are letting on ?

Don't you ever give up trying to be a conspiracy theorist? the player wants out, I think he has spat his dummy out were as other people think the manager is to blame, Either way he is going we have a quality midfielder to replace lets get some cash and shore up the defence

Firstly, can you girls take your little spat out into the playground?? First one to say 'he started it,' gets a thick ear.

Secondly, no-one here knows what's going on and maybe you'll have to be patient and wait until the club tells you whatever details they're prepared to. This situation has cropped up half a dozen times over the past few seasons and they'll take it where it's going before they say what's going to happen like they always do.

Thirdly, shit happens, live with it.

If we all done that spender then no one would debate anything and there will be no threads on here.

You dont like rumours, you dont like debates, is there anything you do like?

I think the best threads on here are ones like these where people put there point across and give reasons why.

agreed, people do overstep the mark on here and are quickly put in their place or shot down in flames (cheers Chip sadx ) these are the best threads as they tend to invoke a lot of passion.

who are these protagonists you speak of?

Maybe you've missed the point there Mr Yubep. I'm saying, don't make it up, say it, believe it and then defend it to the hilt. Because that's just bollocks.

Or maybe there's a train of thought that says it isn't?? I'm all ears.

And it's Mr Spender to you, young Mullet.

This situation has cropped up half a dozen times over the past few seasons and they'll take it where it's going before they say what's going to happen like they always do.

Thirdly, shiit happens, live with it.

If we all done that spender then no one would debate anything and there will be no threads on here.

You dont like rumours, you dont like debates, is there anything you do like?

I think the best threads on here are ones like these where people put there point across and give reasons why.

I prefer posts without text speak or chav spellings.

Waz dat aimd @ m like m8 ?

Maybe you've missed the point there Mr Yubep. I'm saying, don't make it up, say it, believe it and then defend it to the hilt. Because that's just bollocks.

Or maybe there's a train of thought that says it isn't?? I'm all ears.

And it's Mr Spender to you, young Mullet.

apologies mr spender, a case of crossed wires.

Peace

No one has said it is.

I said shame they didn't take notice of the thread where some fans said they wanted an announcement on the manager situation.

So your reply basically makes no sense.

As other fans said that any such announcement would be unnecessary, maybe they DID take notice

Other fan said!

Basically you!

I'm not having a go at Jones in particular here, but players who at the first sign of having to fight for their place" throw their toy's out of the pram". It still only pre season and ALL players need time on the pitch to get match fit for the start of the season. Maybe Jones has come back fitter than any of the other player's in the squad and Turner has decided that he needs less time on the pitch than any other's. This could well be the case with Fredrikson who surely would need as much time as possible to get acclimitised to the "English game".

I rate Jones but believe all player's should firstly accept the manager's decision on any team, and then if necessary fight as hard as possible to regain his place, if it the case he is not in Turner's thoughts for the season, which I hope is not the case.

He also has to stay for TPP's piece of mind as I dont think he could cope not seeing his "mrs" all season.
