It had previously applied for city status to celbrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee and the Millennium, but didn't get it.

The locals still use the words "city centre" though.

I will be going on the first day of the season.

I don't think I'll be there unless Turner whips a couple of decent defenders out the bag in the next 10 days as I can't help but feel its a waste of money otherwise.

I believe it co-incides with the second day of fourth ashes test so I'll be taking my chances on getting a ticket off a tout rather than going to MK. I am in Leeds for the first day, I was going to get the train to MK from Leeds but it costs over a hundred quid, I reckon I'll get a days cricket watched for less than a ton......

I think Southampton will be interested in placing a Kings Ransom on that if they can find the bookie.

So would I.

Corner Flag will run buses again if enough demand. Should be in mail tomorrow night.
£16 members £17 non members

Booking will also be taken for Coventry - £15/£16

No phone bookings will be taken this season because of the idiots who ring up - book - bit don't bother turning up! Sorry!

Flag will be open Wednesday Thursday & Friday from 7pm, and next week Monday (7 - 8) then Wednesday - when we decide if they go.

Is there actually a pub nearby or are we gonna have to buy 8 cans each and get wrecked in Asda car park?

Is everyone still boycotting everything other than the matchday ticket?

Nearest pub is the Beacon. There are few worse pubs in England I have ever been in.

Personally I'd recommend the Eight Belles and then driving to the ground (5 minute drive) or a few quid in a taxi. Round the corner from Bletchley train station too
