BBC Radio Nottinghamshire reporting Sven Goran Eriksson is in talks with Notts County to discuss a possible Director of Football role at the Club.

According to the radio both him and his mate Tord have actually took the job, and will be on performance related pay. They took the job because they want to be involved with taking a club from the bottom to the top.

They must have a pot of money available, otherwise Sven wouldn't go near it.

There was a silly bint on Radio 5 this morning, she was over the moon they'd got Sven. I'd be fookin embarrassed.

There is one club currently doing what all League two clubs would love to do, move through the divisions with relative ease, that's the Posh. The format is simple, young ambitious manager with good pedigree, experienced old hand who can wheel and deal at the bottom level, the best young ambitious players in the country being bought for good money.

County have an average manager, a former national team boss who knows nothing about lower league football and they are signing Geoff Horsfield as player coach, and free transfer journeymen like Luke Rodgers and Ricky Ravenhill!

How long before McPartland is given the elbow and they ask Sven to take over?

Of course he is. You don't let somebody bring in all these players if you are going to replace them with somebody else.

OK so his official title is director of sport, West is club coach, but CT is still the manager, the players will still be calling him gaffer.

Just a thought like(dangerous eh) but Erikson's still seeking a bit of self publicity, well why else would he go to Notts County he's having a laugh isn't he, whereas Capello's notable by his absence in the press.

The PR steamroller of having sven as a director of football is amazing and will help them get better players than just a consortium taking them over ever will.

Sven is one of the best managers England have ever had, FACT!!!

Better then Vegtables, Sir Nobby of Bobby, Curly Kev, Goddle and Big toof, to name a few

Go on, tell me why he wasn't?, I know because he isn't all shouty and English, thats why

Totally disagree Talbot, nothing to do with him not being english or shouty, i love capello so a foreign manager don't bother me.

Sven had the best crop of players this county has ever had since the world cup.

He played scholes on the left wing, flipping heskey on the left wing, seaman in goals at 40.

He simply had no motivation at all and the football we played was dull, boring and negative.

The only good thing he done was call up hargreaves and rooney at 17.

Walcott called up when he'd never played a game for arsenal, whilst rooney and owen we're coming back from injures, one of the worst managerial decisions i've ever seen.

No he had the best 'crap' of players this country have ever had since the last WC

It's trotted out time and time again about the 2004 squad being the ones with the best chance to win, but the England players are sooooooo average and have been since 1990

Overpayed, overblown bling merchants, QF's every time for England now, regardless of who is manager
