If you wish to take comfort from extracting a 'bite   ' then so be it, I'll take it in the fact that I won't have to watch the likes of Lee Thorpe, Craig James, and Mark Convery clog around an empty concrete bowl next season

Come on PJ have you had sense of humour bypass, I couldn't let that little gem go without commenting could I?

I'm just glad we're still in the league to be honest, fook the false promises and shattered dreams, no more spending money we haven't got. Good honest football for a change, albeit shite but better than being in the Northern league

you do realise that left-footers are allowed to use their right to shoot you know!!!

I didnt realise left footed people when in acres of room and choice of foot decide to use their wrong foot 90% of the time!

Silly me.

so out of the 30 odd goals he has scored for Cork, you have seen 5? and 3 of them happen to be with his right foot, the bastard even had the cheek to score with his head, what does that mean?

Did you know that effion didn't strike the ball cleanly that day?, I was in block 6 about 10m from where he kicked it, when he kicked the ball it sort of flicked off the end of his boot giving it extra elevation, enough to beat a short keeper who was off his line, good but not great.

Blimey, we need to lob the ball up to Behan as we did to Eiffion that glorious day and watch him score dipping vollies all day long - if the youtube stuff is anuthing to go by.
And although my knowledge is based on a few internet clips the standard of footy didnt look too disimilar to ours, maybe less disciplined and regimented, does anyone know how it compares. question mark.

After listening to Behan's interview I'm fairly confident that Healy will sign, he to refers to helping the club (Cork) and making move as 'we' every time.

When a player leaves a club you'll always get supporters who speak negatively about them, not everyone rates the same players and some are just bitter about them leaving. Just look at some of the rot that was typed about Micheal Nelson (who was an excellent servant to Pools) around the time of his contract rejection and move to Norwich.

Denis has always been a player to divide the fans, mostly because of his inconsistency. He's a bit of a character - one of my favourite memories of him would be our Champions League game v Apollon where he helped tick down a few seconds while we were holding on, by ignoring his indication to be substituted, walking half way across the pitch as if to take a throw, waving with with glee to the Apollon fans were going mental and showering him with coins and lighters. When he did eventually go to leave the pitch, he was 'hurried' by the referee and responded with a John Cleese-esque fake run.

Some of the goals he has scored have been outstanding, but he does come in for a -lot- of criticism. Perhaps this was unfair, what with him being compared to Kevin Doyle, Roy O'Donovan and John O'Flynn (all currently plying their trades at various English clubs), but even I as a fairly staunch supporter have on many occasion hoped for his substitution.

And, so as to indicate that it's not just sour grapes (which is a fairly silly theory anyway since the likes of Doyler and ODonovan left to well wishes and being talked up, and given our current plight we're only too happy to see players offloaded), here's one or two forum threads about him at two times of his career when he seemed certain -not- to leave.

Woeful 4-0 loss to a Finnish side which was the snowball that started our current avalanche:

Agreeing a new 2 year contract earlier this season:

Ah yes, we define everything in Ireland by religious creed. In between chasing leprechauns and milking guinness unicorns.

Cork is about as far from Belfast and the related bull**** as Hartlepool is from London (I don't actually know where Hartlepool is but I'm guessing the north east as Denis was supposed to fly into Newcastle airport).

One final thing; I have to make mashed potatoes tomorrow night. As an expert which variety of poodie would you recommend?

No, I'm from Cork. We're the ones who shot Michael Collins.

Kerr Pinks, if ye have them over there. Failing that, 'roosters' are good.

Don't eat pops myself but if there's one stereotype thats true, you'd get an odd look at any Irish dinner table when refusing a potato.

We're a fickle bunch, we invented the build-them-up to knock-them-down thing. Luckily for Roy Keane we've softened over the years.

He was from West Cork. He signed the Anglo-Irish Treaty. Some Cork lads didn't like the fact he'd signed it, so they ambushed him.

Based upon fact or because he was at your place for a friendly last night and had a pint with him because he used to be his manager at Sunderland?

Keane has said he isn't interested in any of your players.

Also your chairman was very quick to say we'd made an offer, why the sudden secrecy?

(And Healy was over here at the same time Keane was in Cork. Fact.)
