I very much doubt CT took much training today, the Maiden Castle venue was badly hit by the flooding on Friday, the pitches where still under a lot of water this morning and the centre has been closed to staff for the week whilst it's sorted out.

Did spot Messrs Monkhouse, Collins and Austin wandering away from Durham City Centre at 1:15pm though!

Not quite, they opted for a game of 'baggsy' instead

Most went for the ill-advised sports bag/holdall option. Monkhouse had a couple of pens and a calculator wrapped tightly in a Walter Willsons carrier bag. Monkhouse won.

Kids these days probably play baggsy with manbags inevitably making it much more difficult to attack but easier to defend. This will result in a more 'European' style of game in our playgrounds.

I can remeber coming out of Club Pow a few years ago and Chris Westwood was enjoying a game of mott outside against the wall with some mates. I'm pretty sure he said "mott scoops the lot". True story.

The whole building has been closed, so there is no access to the sports hall, gym or changing facilities. The main cricket pitch is still under water, as is some of the car park and the access road from the car park to the building.

Doesn't look like it's going to be open for a while yet, Houghall over the road looks to be okay, it's further from the river, they may have gone back over there, the principal is still on Pools board I think.

A canyon has formed somewhere in Houghall college due to the rain. Its apparently flushed out a river bed what lay in Durham 400 yrs ago, well is said so on the news.

As I left Durham last night, access to Maiden Castle was still not possible, main road to the building and most of the cricket pitch still under water, no training yesterday, probably not today.

The last time this happened was in 2006, they have photos in reception showing how bad the flood hit them, this time looks worse to me. Dan Lewis' office is on the ground floor as well!
