Pools are being very secretiuve here. Not even a mention of Healy.
Is he a figment of my imagination?
But on the face of it, Behan could be a good signing if he puts the sh**s up a few big defenders and creates space for the likes of B&B.

35 goals in 90 starts aint bad at all. Certainly sounds different to what we have.

Healy and Bevan flew over together didnt they? Surely if Healy is to sing then it will be today??

There has been some talk on the Cork City message board of Healy not wanting to uproot back to England. But Cork are in real trouble and really need the money. In my opinion the only reason Cork published the bid was in a hope of attracting more interest in the two players.

The one thing going for us with the Healy bid is he'll know the area and we've got in nice and quickly, however I wouldn't be at all surprised if his agent isn't trying to hawk in around some bigger clubs in England, if he is going to come back over here the Cork fans seem to think he would be able to have his pick of League 1 sides, and some Championship sides.

Fingers crossed we'll make him an offer he can't refuse, Cork's owners are keen to get the cash into the bank asap, so they'll be hoping he agrees terms. If he doesn't I would expect the fee for Behan on his own to be quite low.

From the Behan interview on Pools World its clear that he flew in yesterday along with Healy so hopefully the Healy deal will be done soon.

On behalf of many many CCFC fans I would like to thank Hartlepool FC for relieving us of Denis Behan. He is awful. A truly terrible "footballer". Best summed up when you say "his second touch is usually a tackle".

He will score the odd screamer alright, but that is about it.

Thanks again. I hope ye have a re inforced bench for him to sit on.

To be fair, I'd be quite happy if every other team in the football league came close to it if it meant Pools could pick up better players.

Yeah but its not what we want to hear!!! We want him to say that Behan is the next Torres but a lot more affordable and that he will guarantee us 30 goals next season.

Take his opinion with a pinch of salt.

Every club has fans that rate players and fans that don't.

If humphreys signed for a club and there fans asked... say mr.i about him, they'd think he was shit, but if they asked say.... I dunno Poolpower, they'd think he was the second coming.

I have done some extensive research! Well okay I've copied and pasted from the thread on the Cork City Fans forum, below are the for's and against's for Denis Behan. This is an honest copy and pasted, I've included every positive and negative comment from the first 8 pages of the thread, after that there is only really talk of the fee and what's going to happen to the money.

Turner has described him as left footed, Cork fans don't agree!!

For
I'd regret he's gone anyway! I'm a Behan fan. I think the bigger players always get more stick - we'll miss his contribution when he's gone.

Totallly agree, just saying he will be appreciated more when we don't have him.

I think Healy will be fantastic, not so sure about Denis, his style might just suit.

Good luck to both of them. They will be missed.

Behan= Improved a lot this year I thought.

no matter how much slagging Behan gets, he has scored some important goals for us.

Behan won us the FAI Cup. Good luck lads. (if true)

Dennis has been a great scorer and long time servant of this club. Massively underrated player. Hope he does well at Hartlepool. League One is a big step up from the LofI of the past two years or so.

Gutted they are both gone, especially healy, one of the best players i have seen in a city shirt

Behan always impressed me. Difficuly player to play against. Will be missed once people realise his worth.

Always had time for Behan . Some people were obsessed in slating him with a lot of poor players avoiding stick .

thanks Denis and Colin! Two great servants for City over the past few years and always gave 100%!

Something about behan, not sure what, in the last three years one of my favorite city players.. i think hes a huge loss..

could we not have dressed gunter up and shipped him instead? Behan will destroy league one, just wait and see.

Thank you Denis for all the wonderful memories and years of service...Fav memory is of Behan is the winner in Derry when we were 2 down and came back 3-2 last year...Super Strike

Denis scored some important goals over the last few seasons

Best of luck Denis, first player I ever got an autograph off. The most under rated player we've probably ever had, I'll never forget the goal he scored to finally beat Shels in Rico's first season after so many attempts under Dolan. That was one of many quality goals he scored and he will be missed.

Behan has provided some wonderful moments for City if not frustrating at times. Still though, he was a great servant for City. Best of luck

Behan would drive you mad at times, he could be such a lazy you know what, but he scored some massive goals for us and gave us some great memories.

As for Denis, well he was never a fans favorite and he often struck me as lazy but he did score some crucial goals for us as highlighted by other posts. Sad to see them go

Agreed. I could never understand why people would defend Denis got slagged off by saying "He always gives 100%"

As for Behan he would drive you crazy for his lazyness at times, but at the end of the day he was a fairly good goalsocrer and he scored some important goals for the club.

Denis. Great servant to the club over the last 7 years. Some of his goals have been amazing.

Behan could be a very frustrating player but he got some great goals and for scoring an FAI Cup winning goal he is up there with Miah Dennehy and Derek Coughlan in the Cork football Hall of Fame. He also played nearly all of the 2005 league winning game against Derry and set up the second goal very well.

Both Colin and Denis will be missed.Best of luck to them.

Against

they said they'd take behan off our hands if we gave them healy for free....Great deal for us

That is until he see's Behan playing

How many good games did Behan have?

Behan I never rated, scored some crackers and important goals none the less. Should be interesting to see how Behan gets on,

Behan I would imagine doesn't command much of the transfer fee. He's an average player and someone we won't miss a whole pile.

well in Denis's case it is all he does and then not very often

He's in for a rude awakening then when he actually sees him controll and hold up the ball

When a player leaves a club you'll always get supporters who speak negatively about them, not everyone rates the same players and some are just bitter about them leaving. Just look at some of the rot that was typed about Micheal Nelson (who was an excellent servant to Pools) around the time of his contract rejection and move to Norwich.

When he first signed he was good without being outstanding and declined consistently during his time here to be a liability on big wages by the time he went. FACT.

He's a 25 year old striker, according to Turner is in the Grant Holt mould, he wont be on big money, he gives us more options, what have we possibly got to lose?

Nothing at all.

Very nice of you the guy was telling the truth most Cork City fans are delighted Behans gone. Oh he will get goals there's no doubt about that. I heard an apt description of him the other day "he's not a great goalscorer but he does score great goals".I wanted to copy and paste a link to one of his spectacular goals doesnt seem to be working if you search youtube for Derry City 2-3 Cork City the 5th goal is the one

Yes he did take a lot of penalties for us. The guy that scored the 2 goals Dave Mooney is at reading now.
If Colin Healy signs for ye it will be the bargain of the centuary the guy is absolute class. I always thought he moved back to Ireland too soon,he would definitly not look out of place in the Championship

I think even the Barker knockers will agree, we missed physical presence last year. I think he'll compliment what we've already got.

Shame Healy hasn't signed, as had already been said, he'll be doing a tour of other league 1 and championship sides as we speak...............

It is a bit of a worry that Turner says he is left footed when all of his goals bar one is with his right sctatchinghead

Fook me you have some brass neck some of cack you'll be watching next season, I mean proper fourth division cack as well. The majority of comments about this lad from Cork fans are positive you'll always get a few that beg to differ, mind this doesn't seem to be the case with for example Craig James, who is universally accepted as one of the worlds worst players.

Who's he signed for again? How about Lee Thorpe?

I didnt realise left footed people when in acres of room and choice of foot decide to use their wrong foot 90% of the time!

Silly me.

I'll laugh at this because I can rolfl

Fook me you have some brass neck some of cack you'll be watching next season, I mean proper fourth division cack as well. The majority of comments about this lad from Cork fans are positive you'll always get a few that beg to differ, mind this doesn't seem to be the case with for example Craig James, who is universally accepted as one of the worlds worst players.

Who's he signed for again? How about Lee Thorpe?

 The very worst of message board retorts.

If you wish to take comfort from extracting a 'bite   ' then so be it, I'll take it in the fact that I won't have to watch the likes of Lee Thorpe, Craig James, and Mark Convery clog around an empty concrete bowl next season
