I sent an email to the club last night asking why £13 for a friendly game.

Just checked and guess what,no reply.

7 euros last night in Leeuwarden to watch friendly with Cambuur and stood at basically the rec, trying to look through other people to see the game so £13 not bad compared to that.

So charging 13 quid is OK because some other team a thousand miles away charge HALF that? WTF? it's suicidal business sense. We'll get 500 there now, we'd have got double or treble that at a cheaper price.

If that's directed at me mate, that's not what I'm saying. The post from me has a touch of Irony in it. What I'm saying is that compared to where I stood last night and was charged approx £7 for then being charged £13 is reasonable for what I get at the Vic. And luxury on the scale of Wembley, once more, compared to last night.

And so no more misunderstanding I actually believe £13 is to much for a friendly against Wednesday.

Will I see you there though ??????

I think the club will reduce prices for this when they realise no one is interested. Someone at the club will probably read this thread too.

With all these new signings i'm definitely going. Not too bad for me i've got a season ticket so its the only game i'll be paying for on the day bar the cup games.

Plus is this our only home friendly? If so its only 1 to pay for till the season starts.

think a tenner with accompanying bin lids free we'd have a chance of getting a crowd..£18 a throw is just too much for a kick around .. I'd rather go down to York!

Yes it is the only home pre season friendly we have, nearest away being Billingham Town. The price as I previously stated is to high, but with only 1 game then it doesn't mean an excessive outlay. Though that not an excuse for charging £13 but I'm sure if we only arranged away pre season games, there would be more complaints that as fans we didn't have the chance to see any new signings prior to the first competitive game of a season.

No matter what charge was fixed, as others state some would still say it was to much. Unless we made all friendlies free, but that is also IMHO not a possibility.

ffs, friendlies arent even proper football. theres zero atmosphere, and nobody cares what the result is to the extent that there is polite applause when somebody scores. its even less fooking interesting than going to the ressies cos at least those games are semi serious.

there will be about 4,000 substitutions, and it will drag on all night.

its actually the exact opposite of everything that makes football worth watching. and charging 13 bar is so fooking thick the bloke who came up with the price structure should be shot in the face.

id actually rather take the bairn to see the harry potter film at the pictures and i hate the little tw@t.*

Couldn't agree more ... friendlies are a waste of time for the fans.
The same applies to that Henry Porter gadgie ... the novelty's worn off now.

Got this reply to my email query on the prices.

We are in receipt of your recent email regarding the above, your comments of which have been noted.

Please be advised the pre-season ticket prices were discussed in detail once the fixture was confirmed and it was felt that these were significant reductions on our normal League prices of £20 Adults £10 Concessions (seating) and £18 Adults £9 Concessions (standing). We also agreed these prices with Sheffield Wednesday FC.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of Hartlepool United FC.

Of course it is cheaper than our normal league prices as they should be BUT I still think £13 is too much for this game. IF anyone is going please text me the score. sadx

Why are they even comparing it to a league fixture, it's a pre season friendly!! They charge less in the paint pot which is actually a competitive fixture!! Just how out touch can you get?

We'll be lucky to get 1,000 tomorrow, a great first impression for all the new players. Well done Pools stpid stpid

I will admit I did want to go just to cast an eye over the new lads and to see Tommy Miller again at the Vic, BUT not at £13 and to be even more arsey about it I even turned down a freebie ticket off someone who had a mitfull.
