That's right ridicule the lad after 2 pre season games against a style of football our lads will not be playing in the UK.. Try looking at the defence as well but again it's still only pre season he could concede 100 if he wanted too

God almighty banghead

I saw the highlights of the first game and it looked like he had two hands with normal fingers and was a human life form (not a hologram which items such as Mitre footballs could seemingly pass straight through).

So I'm going on that alone, yes he his.

It's amusing that a few have fallen for that TPP

Mate has just called me from the match and he said we were abysmal and lucky to only concede 4.

Im seriously concerned about our team (the defence especially). I joked earlier how they are only friendlies but if we were a half decent team then we would not be getting spanked like we are.

You guys can go and convince yourselves that things will all be fine once the season starts but I have a really bad feeling about the forthcoming season.

The players have supposedly come back from the mid season break in great shape so fitness cant be fully to blame. We have not signed enough players (again) and will be STARTING the season by playing round pegs in square holes. The club simply do not learn and we wont be as lucky this season as we were the last.

I really hope im wrong like!

While supposedly, "results don't matter in friendlies" you can't expect people to feel the same level of optimism and confidence in the new look defense and keeper after conceding 7 goals in the first two games - I know I don't. As a fan of Hartlepool united I hate it when my team loses at any level and that includes so called meaningless friendlies! Obviously you have to factor in that there are players playing together for the first time and the level of fitness might not quite be there in some individuals but as professional footballers they go on a pitch in a competitive enivironment with the ultimate goal of winning. The team didn't achieve that and by some accounts they weren't particuarly inspiring performances in the process. Even so, writing off a whole season on the basis of two bad results would be insane - I just don't think the idea that people who's confidence in the defence is slightly shaken by two bad results (and if reports are to be believed, performances) in a row should be shot down for it.

I see Collins took another knock before kick off. I know we need a left back and people keep saying we need striker and defensive midfielder but I think we need a centre back even more especially as it looks like Hartley may be left back.

Here we go ...if we'd won them, the doves of hope would have been flung into the air and we'd have been world beaters with the world our oyster...if £13 is too much for an unimportant, irrelevant game, which it is, well these can't be that important either ....

Too much analysis going on based on F all...
Dont know the oposition, many of you didn't probably see the game, experimental positions, only supposed to be a work out, its a training game... Blah blah.#
If we hadn't played these games an opinion of the whole season ahead would have been made based on the bleep test!
Lets take a deep breath

And hope.

Because Turner said himself he doesnt have one lined up and will look when he gets home from Holland but he mentioned Hartley can play there so its in his mind.

its all relative. Our playoff final season we played 2 dutch teams who were a lot worse than the two we have just played. Our squad then was full of proven quality and was a settled squad. We won 2-1 and drew 2-2. We were then beaten by some shite scottish team. Its best to make mistakes now so the manager can iron them out rather than win every game 6-0 and go into the season with blind optimism. lets see how we get on against sheff wed...

There were 4 players in last nights team that are likely to be in the starting 11 first game of the season.

Well, we managed to beat Leeds United when it seemed it didn't matter, and since then we haven't beaten them since.

If we can beat Leeds when it didn't matter, we can beat Sheffield Wednesday.

The point is, Kent, do you want to get revenge on Sheffield Wednesday or not? If you want us to beat Sheffield Wednesday in games that matter, you should want us to lose to them in this friendly, on the grounds that whenever we win a friendly that doesn't matter, we go on to lose games that do matter. As in the case of Leeds. Whom we managed to beat in a game that didn't matter but then never beat again.

So you're telling me if we beat the Wendies in the upcoming kick about we won't be promoted to the Championship  :uhoh: sctatchinghead

That it will actually mean fuck all and the only reason they are trying to bull this up as some sort of revenge mission is to justify charging £13? Well stone me.
