I got some vouchers from various relatives for Christmas, I went to spend them today and was told that I couldn't use them as they have gone into administration   . I was there yesterday some vouchers and there was no hint of this happening, they even gave me vouchers for my change.

Got to say the customer service people there are on the ball. I e mailed them to complain and within half an hour I had an e mail back apologising, and explaining that there must have been a communication breakdown, they then said that they would welcome me to use my vouchers. clappp

A shame if they've gone bump, a most helpful and welcoming company. Much better than the likes of HMV, Woolies, WH Smith..... and most of all Farking Tesco's.

Tesco refused point blank to even discuss stocking the CD.

I suppose that means my Gold Card is stuffed....

When they started to expand a few years back they opened quite a big store in St. Helens, and they had this thing for about 2 years where you could pay £25 and get a Gold Card that would give you 10% off everything. They stopped selling them after a while but would still give you the discount if you had one.... meant that I could get Chart CDs for £9 when the average was about £14, these were the days before CD Wow was around and so it beat most Net prices as well.

Still, I got my money's worth - must've covered the cost of it about 3 times.....

I agree, MZ have always been helpful in my experience and it's a shame they've gone tits up. I suspect taking on the former MVC stores is what's torn it - tried to expand too quickly.....

I was talking to John a while back & he was saying the CD side of the business is doing nothing, its the 'Othertours' that is keeping him going.

Of course they have. The holy trinity was Bruce Moore's, Hoggetts, and Binns (yes Binns!)!
