Apologies for the geeky post but have any of you guys bought a new mobile phone lately?

Im due an upgrade on the orange network next month and having spent a number of hours researching the latest models im still no further forward.

Im thinking about getting a high end type one with a decent size screen which would allow me access to the bunker while im having a break at work and give decent speeds.

I currently have the viewty one but it is shiiit at browsing t'interweb ( )

Any recommendations?

I was reading a few reviews of them and they do look the dogs bits but they look pretty expensive. how much do you have to pay each week for the o2 contract if you dont mind me asking?

Does the battery run out straight away?

Cheers.

I get a zillion free minutes for 1c. Free pics of nuns, a signed lithograph of Henry Fonda having a poo, and a piece of Anna Nicole Smith's gusset.

Good deal. :coool:

I'm on Orange with an unlocked iPhone 3G. Absolutely fantastic bit of kit.
Previously been exclusively using Nokia since 1995 but the iPhone is so much better!

I carry a mobile in case anyone wants to get in touch, or if I break down in the car, put about a fiver on it every couple of months. I had to look at it to find out what make it is, Panasonic, no idea of model, I've had it for 3 or 4 years I think. It makes calls and texts, what more do you really need.

Yes! (apart from the "send texts" bit  )

I do have an iPhone, but it's work-supplied and therefore free. There is no way on earth I would pay £30+ a month just to be able to use my phone. stpid

By the way, I have noticed that the main use for a phone these days is for sad acts to cheat at pub quizzes.

its comical to see them sneaking to the bog in the aldi arms on a sunday night to google things.

ffs if you dont know the answer make 1 up

Grave: Ask them for a HTC Touch Diamond 2 or a HTC Touch HD. Pretty much walk all over the iPhone but dont shout and scream about it.

I pay £20 per month and get free calls and free SMS's and pay an extra £5 for insurance and £5 for the 'Blackberry' internet package (Unlimited Usage) = £30 for everything and no added costs!

Apple release a new phone every 3 months because they are making massive errors and HTC release one a year(?). Something must be wrong at apple for instance..... No 3g in the 1st one ..... No camera in the 2nd one...... its taken them 3 goes to get it half right. The newest iPhone looks like it could be OK.

But yep, TouchFlo is the program it uses to navigate off the home page. I've used an iPhone and been very underwhelmed by it....... All I want is my emails to my phone to text and to make/receive calls.... so it serves its purpose I guess. I wont be changing my HTC for an Apple anytime soon.

EVERYONE has different opinions based on how you want to use it I guess.

unless you own the company having a work phone that send / recieves emails in my opinion is a waste of time, why make yourself more accessable.

I got my Nokia from Tesco 2year ago it cost me £25. I've used £35 on pay as you go since then. It was offline for a while when I left it in my jeans pocket and it went through the cotton cycle but a couple of hours on the radiator seemed to sort it out.

Mind you what I've saved I spent on beer.

Cheers
