O Fortuna O Fortune,
velut luna like the moon
statu variabilis, you are changeable,
semper crescis ever waxing
aut decrescis; and waning;
vita detestabilis hateful life
nunc obdurat first oppresses
et tunc curat and then soothes
ludo mentis aciem, as fancy takes it;
egestatem, poverty
potestatem and power
dissolvit ut glaciem. it melts them like ice.

Sors immanis Fate - monstrous
et inanis, and empty,
rota tu volubilis, you whirling wheel,
status malus, you are malevolent,
vana salus well-being is vain
semper dissolubilis, and always fades to nothing,
obumbrata shadowed
et velata and veiled
michi quoque niteris; you plague me too;
nunc per ludum now through the game
dorsum nudum I bring my bare back
fero tui sceleris. to your villainy.

Sors salutis Fate is against me
et virtutis in health
michi nunc contraria, and virtue,
est affectus driven on
et defectus and weighted down,
semper in angaria. always enslaved.
Hac in hora So at this hour
sine mora without delay
corde pulsum tangite; pluck the vibrating strings;
quod per sortem since Fate
sternit fortem, strikes down the string man,
mecum omnes plangite! everyone weep with me!

I hope pools remember who we are, and how we like to be different.

The thought of Pools running out to some poncey classical music makes me feel sick.

We are pools for fooksake, not some Mackem wannabies.

Take Heed pools, and make sure we are different.

We should run out to Monty pythons Flying circus

Or the Benny Hill Theme tune.

Lets make it a laugh and entertaining, and lets get Hangus back tot he way he behaved when His Worship first wore the suit.

All of football is now sanitised beyound belief, lets make pools different, and break that middle of the road, monopoly.

What about Friggin in the riggin?

Stop this girly pop music/classical music nonsense. :roll:

O fortuna was played in the modern film version of Romeo and Julet with Clare Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Isn't O Fortuna used as the music to the introduction in each episode of the X Factor? sctatchinghead

there must only be about three primary school children who actually want to hear Tom Hark.....it just shows the club do not listen to the fans on these issues

I remember watching that whilst I was younger...with a younger, more slimline Chris Turner as manager, Tommy Miller was putting them in and Hull City were in the Third Division.

Oh, what memories! :grin:

That's a great song - I never could find out then who wrote that music.

Blitzkrieg Bop by The Ramones. Top chant along anthem and nobody else uses it. Or Cum On Feel The Noize by Slade, we could get wild, wild, wild,even before kick off. Or Little Fluffy Clouds by The Orb to get you in the mood for those dull bits in a shit season where you drift off a bit.

Can't do links but they are all good...

Wierd, Plastic Bertrand was playing near here a few weeks back but I only saw the posters after he'd "performed". Like the idea of Ca Plane Pour Moi though- ideal for the end of dull draws.
