Started off as testicular cancer too.

Proof if needed that your brain is directly connected to your balls.

Awful for the guy. I hope the treatment goes well, but if it's already spread it doesn't sound good. sadx

What colour card do I get for saying that of all the cancers that I thought John Hartson would never get, cancer of the brain is at the top of the list. It's like Bonnie Langford getting breat cancer. Unlucky John - good luck in beating it.

The brain makes it sound worse than having breast cancer or testicular cancer...but, our lass(Radiotherapist) informs me its no harder to treat than skin cancer or any cancer for that matter. Just got to hope that the Chemotherapy does it's job as kills the thick of it off and the Radiotherapy to do the rest.

Poor bloke, imagine if it was you having to go home and tell your family. Sad. He's in good hands and hopefully will get through it.

Correct. You DO NOT joke about cancer.

It's a fucker, and its a random bastard too. Our lass had her fifth of six chemo's today and is doing as well as can be. Just hoping she doesnt get fucking swine flu, because that's just something you read about in the paper unless you have someone close whose immune system is shot to pieces. We joke about things now and then but at the time of diagnosis and until you find out that it hasnt spread (as in our lass's case), well things just go mad and joking doesnt help.
My blessings are with John and his family, especially with any kids he may have.

Yeah, but you need normality as well, even if things like this bring perspective to life.
I still moan as much as I used to.
Thanks for the best wishes. Things really are going as well as they could be.

Lance Armstrong is proof of the fact that you can come back from this terrible disease.

All my best wishes go to John and his family at this difficult time.

Apparenrly it's in his lungs as well now, and he's had surgery to help. But news like this, even when it's a stranger you've never met or even seen play apart from on the telly, makes you think: "Bollocks, I'll go on that flash holiday."
It might be your last.
