It could be arranged.

I don't think I will bother, they probably won't let me use my season ticket to get in for free.

Go and support the "toon" after all it is your home town team, plus it will be a good excuse to rip the pizz should they win.

It's bad enough watching Pools in a pre season friendly playing Billingham and we normally put about 4 past them --- don't waste your life watching that shite Mr Billinghm Poolie, you could do something far more constructive like having a wank or 10, spend the night on facebook, watch Coronation Street twice or go for a nice evening jog......

I've been looking for a way to lose some weight, I might just take up your last option, down Marsh House Avenue, Cowpen Lane, and Bedford Terrace, lean on a barrier, hang around if Town are winning, and I'm knackered, and ask that nice Mr DL5 to give me a lift home, he seems to know Billingham better than I do.

If he gives me a lift, I'll make him suffer, and I'll give him 50p for his petrol.

If only that was right Sussex, you won 3-0.

I went along for about 30 minutes of the second half, and apart from the lad on the right side of midfield (number 12, possibly Mark Converry) who hit the crossbar, it was difficult to tell which was the lower league team. Aparently Dean Windass was the difference in the first half, scoring 2. Thorpe got a tap in near the end, according to this mornings Echo, but I had left by then. I can't see him getting many goals this year, he wasn't getting anything out of Town's Northern League defenders.

On the whole I'm glad I went along, it gives me a warm feeling thinking about how bad they were.

I don't really think 30 minutes of a team's first pre-season game can tell anybody how good they are going to be.

I think the likes of of Lee Thorpe has proven how shit he is over a period of many years in the fourth division (and lower).

A rank centre forward, in the fourth division clogger mould.

I didn't see a tramp in a simian shirt last night Billy Boy, and we all know that pre season means Jack don't we?

Yes I know, but it still gave me a warm feeling though.

I wore the wife's Stockton Council fleece, and stood near to Craig Hignett, he's not going to make another comeback for you lot is he?

The warm feeling was when you peed yourself in fear of the mighty Deano  . Don't even go there with Hignett, the dredge is out as we speak.

I've never wet my self for a long time, not since....... well that's another story.

I certainly don't have any reason to be in fear of Deano, in case you've forgotten we're still a league higher than your lot.

I like your optimism.

Just to remind you this is what a league table with your lot above us looks like.

http://www.inthemadcrowd.co.uk/cgi-bin/ ... id=1999/00

Had to go back 10 seasons to find it like.

Staying ahead in this marathon we call life.

congratulations for being slightly ahead for less than 1/10th of our histories.

Not so long back someone did a "history" league table showing an average ranking based on league positions from the creation of each club.( a hundred year+ league table if you like) I recall we were slightly higher than you. maybe you could dig that one up

That statistic doesn't simply count in the real world.

The most important stat of all: Darlington - League Two, Hartlepool - LEAGUE ONE!!!

You brought up the past.

I've had this debate lots of times, what do you class as now? this second? week? couple of months? season, last 20 yrs?. Hull were 4th best team in the country for a while last season but they weren't really were they?

Hartlepool and Darlo have always had "we're better than you" debates, you're currently in a higher league that's undeniable but you've got to go all the way back to settle it correctly and fairly.

That statistic doesn't simply count in the real world.

The most important stat of all: Darlington - League Two, Hartlepool - LEAGUE ONE!!!

We did. That was when we knocked you out of the Carling Cup a couple of years ago.

And we beat you by a couple of goals that night.

Like I said, the only thing that matters is NOW, and that was what Henry Ford was saying.

"History is more or less bunk. It's tradition. We don't want tradition. We want to live in the present, and the only history that is worth a tinker's damn is the history that we make today." (Chicago Tribune, 1916).

But tradition is what makes our clubs or else we'd all be like the Mc Dongs

This coming from a fan of a Club who dumped it's small old ground and headed for a cold 25,000 seater stadium with no character that they can't even fill.
