The only goal of the game came on 73 minutes when to the astonishment of the whole ground, Referee R Lee pointed to the spot after Daley went down under a challenge from Giles Coke. The Mansfield players immediately surrounded the Referee in protest and well they might for not even the Hartlepool players appealed.
