Mail says: "The Pools squad returned to their Maiden Castle training ground last week to resume their regime of bleep tests, weights sessions and energy-sapping long-distance runs."
What are bleep tests, like? Is it summat to do with phone texts?

I think it's running back and forth between two points where each length run is completed before a 'beep' noise, as the test progresses the time between the beep is reduced.

Correct!

Its a good test for Stamina and Cardio. Everyone hates the bleep test though, Because as that beep gets closer and closer it gets more and more tortureous

Now I know ... in the olden days, before bleeps were invented, I think they were called "shaggers".
I was watching Pools pre-season training at Grayfields years ago, and they had a sort of sports day at the end. One player, who shall remain nameless, soiled his shorts during a hurdles race.

A 'source' will come on here shortly and say Richie was the best at the bleep test.

P.S. He looks lean in them pictures.
