As we are obsessed with adding to our squad, and quite rightly so to help our striking options, there could be other issues facing POOLS. Here are some speculative ideas

Bids for:-

1. Dimi - Fulham, Coventry possibly Sheff United !
2. Nelse - in part ex for Duffy plus £50K coming our way
3. Richie - Vale bid ????

Loan situation:

4. Bob Monkhouse - Given scored 3 on loan Swindon recall ???
5. Duffy - Phil Brown has a look at him at Hull - sign end of season

Issues we need resolving - there are players we need to ship out but who is going to take any of them!

1. Darrell Clarke who cannot get a regular game for Rochdale
2. Tinks - grey hair and all !
3. Brackstone?
4. D Williams for me no better than Barron and we have young Phil Tunrbull as a deputy.
5. S Turnbull fair enough to give hima season half loan at Bury but we should look to monitor him
6. Strach - really likeable lad who does suffer from knee pains in my talks with him, but witha fit Boland seems to have chances restricted, but will anyone pay money for him, but he is our most saleable commodity.
7. Bullock - York City anyone or a part ex with Donaldson !!

The fact of the 60% wage cap will mean we have got to ship out players before we can justify a big singing in. Trouble is who will want any of them.

Good post

We can't do much about 1, 2 or 3
If clubs bid, then every player has his price.
I'd hate to see any of them go, and it has been a concern of mine,
but if the bids are high enough, the club may not be able to refuse them.
The players, especially Dimi and Nelse will have ambitions at a higher level.
Can't honestly see Ritchie wanting to leave to go Vale.

Monkhouse I'm sure would love to sign, being a Leeds lad, depends on Swindon's valuation and his wage expectations.

The outgoing players, again I agree, we can't do much about them until the end of the season, when I think all of their (plus Proctor and Ali G's) contracts are up. They must all know the writing is on the wall and will surely be on the lookout for clubs
Must just add, that I don't understand Trigger's situation, always rated him personally, but apparently Wilson has told him he doesn't figure in his plans.

Get rid of D.Williams? confised

If Barron gets injured, that would mean we would be left with a player who has only 1 game under his belt for Pools, not what you need when you are going for promotion.

Couple of observations though:

1. This, 'if a good bid comes in the club can't say no....' How many times does Hodcroft have to say that the way the club is funded means that we don't have to sell. Put short, we don't need the money and are extremely lucky in that respect.

2. Into day three of the transfer window and the walls aren't exactly being stormed.

3. Hodcroft is adamant that players see out their contract. Said it once said it millions of times. Particularly to Nelson and look at the grief he caused Ross?? This feller chews up agents and spits them out and he's said he will publicly. I wouldn't try and steal anyone from underneath his nose.

4. Darren Williams, our 'saleable commodity.' He's notionally been on the list since August and again, I can't see the approaching cheque book wavers, can anyone else?? Also, say what you like, I rate him and always have. He just suffered from Bullock/Llewellyn/Proctor syndrome last season and got thrown in a bucket with them purely because Scott signed him.

5. The points on the wage cap are very valid but there's always 'mutual agreement.'
