"Hi,

Nick Griffin has won a seat in the European Parliament.

It's a disgrace.

I've just signed a petition which says NOT IN MY NAME. The petition will be handed into the European Parliament on the day that BNP leader Nick Griffin takes his seat.

Sign the petition - let's show the rest of the EU what we think of the racist BNP:

http://action.hopenothate.org.uk/notinmyname

Thanks."

the BNP have been voted in by the voters and have a democratic right to voice the opinions of their voters. See this is what e democracy is about!!!

And if you read the international papers, you'll see that its not just in the UK where voters are voting for groups like the BNP...... but all I can say is long live the freedom of speech..... thats what our forefathers fought for!!!!

Will the BNP give freedom of speech to 7.5% of Britons they exclude? Swings and roundabouts.

doesnt matter does it they were voted in fairly...... or do you's want to change the way politics work by just having the people that say yes and not no..... and before i get acused for being racist forget it I'm just stating how I see it and that's my right to do that, we're not in a country that shoots you for not towing the line

They won't have free speech because they won't be in the country to express it.

It's democracy at work, and the real shame should lie with the lazy bastads (cADG) who can't be bothered to use their vote.

So let's get this right, you're advocating free speech as long as it's not for expressing detest of the BNP?
And racism is all right as long as more than one country practises it?

The terminology used by the extreme right is interesting in that it includes unarguable truisms.

Kipper, the tattooed politico barman down our pub once said to me.....'there's nothing wrong with being proud of being English'. Of course there's not and of course he left out what his definition of being English was.

Another one is, 'These freedoms are what my grandad gave his life for'. Again it's difficult to argue that anyone's efforts or loss of life was futile but again the freedoms they faught for are not defiined.

The extreme right use these self evident statements as a justification for the policy of creating a nation consisting of a dominant white elite, the position of power of which would be secured by violence.

I kinda forgot that this place you're not allowed to have a varying opinion.

Everyone will somehow be effected by the BNP if they were to get in at the next general election. They wont get in I know, but if they did this country would crumble. Without the non-British workers we would have about 3 doctors and 2 consultants and 2 surgeons & no taxi drivers in every other town/city apart from Hartlepool.
There is good in the legal immigrants. The poor sods get blamed for everything, dont they?

Much as I agree with its intention, I'm not signing that petition. My Webbynet paranoia forbids it.
My e-mail address and postcode are restricted information and I have no proof they won't be misused by that Web site, so soz.

Of course its forbidden info but you dont need to put in the real postal code. I put in TS24 8PX ..... that street in Hartlepool doesnt even exist anymore!!!

it's each to their own. just like not voting at all is up to the individual.

I'm sorry, and as a newbie, I especially don't want to speak out of turn, but isn't that all a bit gay?

None of the electorate voted Gordon Brown in as PM(!), but we're not filling in online petitions when he goes to see other world leaders saying he's not acting in my name.

Has democracy become fascism? sctatchinghead (I'm still loving this icon)

Point taken.

Swap 'effeminate' for 'gay'.

That's fine. I'm in no way homophobic but, if you don't mind, I'll keep the spam javelin encrusted. Just for safety - akin to the effect of cloves of garlic on a group of vampires.

well you got me there, but wasnt it at a similar incident where they begun to smash windows and everything, dont get me wrong I dont condone what happened to the man and the copper should be put away for life, if they ever catch him, but it was about freedom of speech... do you's think its right for Iranian's or other nation's to march in London protesting against what is happening in their native country, shouldn't they be there fighting forfreedom of speech. And I THINK that al foriegners that get caught and found guilty of a crime should be deported to there own country, black , white , red or yellow and it shouldn't matter if it would put there lives in jeopardy, they should of thought about that first. I mean serious crimes , not daft thing's like speeding.

Some people might not think that speeding is a daft crime.

yes , but it isnt the sort of crime were someone should be deported for, there are far worse crimes which deserve a more radical action
