Yes, I've just looked that up, MJ. I've known about Sylvia Plath for years and had never heard she wrote under another name.

You surely don't expect us to spell it!

It's in New Zealand and means something like "the village by the hill where uncle george met the chief of the enemies and shagged his daughter in public on a tuesday". There are loads of letter 'U's in it.

edit: didn't someone make it into a song?

Correct:

The city of angels, the great city, the eternal jewel city, the impregnable city of God Indra, the grand capital of the world endowed with nine precious gems, the happy city, abounding in an enormous Royal Palace that resembles the heavenly abode where reigns the reincarnated god, a city given by Indra and built by Vishnukarm.

or in it original language:

Krung-dēvamahānagara amararatanakosindra mahindrayudhyā mahātilakabhava navaratanarājadhānī purīramya utamarājanivēsana mahāsthāna amaravimāna avatārasthitya shakrasdattiya vishnukarmaprasiddhi

Well yeah, it's a ceremonial name but whatever.

What sort a "pod" is a scorpion (e.g. quadruped, hexapod, etc.)?

It's actually an arthropod but that has nothing to do with quantities, which is what I'm after!

Er ... yes .. forgot.

Eight limbs used for walking means it's an octopod.
They always get in wrong in quizzes since they count the pincers as limbs and call them decapods.
The number of times I have to put quiz writers right...

Here's an easier one. What was the name of the collection of mathematical/logical brain teasers composed by Lewis Carroll?

No. It's 'The Bell Jar.'

Here's a proper one. Who is the writer here:
'Now Albert's coming back, make yourself a bit smart.
He'll want to know what you've done with that money he gave you
to get yourself some teeth.'

It's best to ask a question when no one is about, especially MJ and Monty, although I think the latter tends to lurk in the 'hidden' members, so you can't always tell when he's about. bbolt

That's if you want your question to last longer.

I think I know the answer to this one. Is it 15 minutes?

No Poker connection, just something I noticed watching the film recently, and thought 'I bet nobody will know that if I ask it in a quiz.'

Right. In the absence of any other question.
Which actor played in the 1945 (yes, 1945) Abbot & Costello film "Abbot & Costello in Hollywood" and also in the 2009 (yes, 64 years later) American TV series The Nanny Express, but will probably most be remembered for the character he played in a TV series about a time traveller and an unexpected miming of a Roy Orbison song?
