You're boring. Very boring.

Only a bit over 20000 people voted so he was never likely to get a 10k majority when there were so many candidates.

and I doubt he cares.

You are unbelievably thick aren't you? I would maybe spent your time debating something a bit more simple than Local Government Elections as this one is making you look like a right tit.

Whats this 'we' shite?

If Pools still don't own the ground when the next election comes around will you banging his drum, so to speak.....?

Why does everyone give a fck about IOR owning the ground? I really don't see the obsession and what difference it'll make to anything.

On IOR owning the vic - Because they have said they will develop the ground should they own it.

On SD - I'm sure he does work hard but so he fooking should for the money he gets, Many people in this town work and they are only on half what he is on.

The people of Hartlepool need to see some real changes, and the mayor has an important role to play in promoting a good image of the town. I don't see how wanting him to be a good public speaker is a bad thing, it is actually quite cringeworthy watching / listening to him sometimes because he seems out of his depth. He is representing the town FFS.

The facts are he has achieved next to nothing in his time of mayor, he hasn't really grown in to the role in my opinion and for what he is costing the rate payers he has got to start having an impact in areas that have been done to deah in other threads.

It is votes that count, he has an oppertunity again to really make some changes for the good of the town, I hope he does.... but some on here need to remember that he is not paid a grand a week to be a nice lad in the pub......

Again, why develop the ground? How will that improve anything other than a bigger away end.

The only thing that needs improving/increasing is the away end and if IOR don't want to do that until they own the ground then that's their own problem and doesn't prove to me any further why we should sell the ground to them. They'll lose out financially whether they do it or not so just don't sell it and increase the away end, surely?

But we know IOR use Pools limited conferencing facility's to show off, they may be willing to develop in this area thus bringing in more income. Improving the size of the away end is also imprtant if we want Pools to compete and be challenging to get into the play offs in league one.

IOR are investing massively in a facility that they don't even own - I can totally see Ken Hodcrofts point....

So can I but I don't think it'll make the massive impact that some people are claiming it will and am yet to be convinced otherwise.

I thought it already had been?

Surely it only needs a lick of paint, not much point in spending a fortune on it anyway IMO.

The train statio may as well go neglected unless we get some decent services running in & out of it.

I still don't know why they need to own the ground and why people see it as being so important.

If they won't increase the away end until they own it then surely it's only their own pockets that are suffering.

Work is about to start on the transport interchange.

The council can hardly be blamed for private companies deciding not to start construction projects such as the hotel and stuff due to the recession and the difficulty that they have financing things at the moment.

Unless you expect the council to pay for the development of the hotel stuff? stpid

I like the train station me, very quaint, although it's a shame they had to remove the bridge. I have to say though, since the ticket office has been redeveloped, I don't think I have ever seen it open stpid

I've missed the last train home and had to sleep on the platform/waiting room at Leeds, Bristol Temple Meade, Torquay, Plymouth and Stoke, so comfort always comes in handy. That was a few years back mind, if you did that nowadays you'd probably be locked up for vagrancy banghead
