PS

I don't agree about their being arseholes.

I'm sure there's a much more suitable word. Jackasses maybe?

I know mesh well he drinks in the same club as me and is a canny lad, it doesn't bother me if somebody is a real fan of another team and not a plastic supporter. The daughters stepdad is a massive Man U fan and been a season ticket holder for a long time going all over the world to watch them and now picks which games he goes to and is also a season ticket holder at pools.

I think its just the fact they are a feature in a supposedly Hartlepool newspaper, if it had been the sunderland echo or the newcastle paper then fair enough.
Of course the mail didn't have to print it neither did they have to agree to have their pictures taken but its a reflection when pools are trying to get people on board to support the club we have articles like this.

However, I myself know a few lads from the town who do support the other 3 "bigger" north east team and they are canny lads but there's also a few who I wouldn't make comments about for fear of drinking through a straw for the next 2 months

Him and Harty took me to a Sunderland match many moons ago when the stadium of Shite first opened, had a cracking atmosphere like, although not as good as when we visited there in the cup.

One of my countless "other" teams (might even be my second team since I've actually watched them play and egged them on) have one game left, next Friday.
They currently lie 3rd, in the single play-off spot, and are playing the 2nd placed team at home. A win will leapfrog them to automatic promotion into one of Europe's top leagues. Anything other than a win could mean they finish with bugger all. Now that's what you call end-of-season excitement, not two second-rate teams scrapping to stay in a division in which they're only making up the numbers.
The only pity is I'm going to get there two days too late to see it. sadx

If only they had turned a couple of narrow defeats into wins, they could have been going up as Champions, they certainly have the best goal difference. clappp

But its still horrible sick photo on the front of the hartlepool mail.

It doesnt matter if they are great lads, and if we all know them.

It still made me sick. I know them too by the way.

How does a story like that get the attention of the Mail in the first place? Did they phone the Mail themselves to give them the "story"?

I don't know, but I've got a potato that looks remarkably like a penis and two testicles, so I'm going to give them a call.

I'm confused, how can you call yourself a Pools supporter if you have a season ticket for another team, surely you could be classed as a 'gotopoolswhentheresnowtelseon' fan would be more appropriate in the circumstances. Shows what level the Mail has fallen to...as a matter of interest, when Pools last met Darlo, was there a picture in the Sunderland Echo of two Sunderland lads in a Pools shirt and Darlo shirt, rspective season ticket holders, going head to head ... who support Sunderland when Pools and Darlo aren't playing ... nah, thought not.
