It's good they have been saved - especially as they will be operating on a vastly reduced budget!

Another "saviour" for the loids, waiting with baited breath for the word "championship" to come spewing from the mouth of George III (Raj is Indian for George, obviously)

They never learn do they?

I can see why they would be breathing a sigh of relief to be saved but to be a-whooping n a-hollerin about a pretty much unknown quantity taking over with no news yet as to: Stadium? Budget? Future plans? is amazing. I thought it was once bitten, twice shy not twice bitten, turn round, drop trousers and do me hard again. sctatchinghead

Funny you should say that.

Quote from Houghton in this mornings Echo.....

"I should never have put together the financial package for Dave Penney that i did. It was a Championship side that i built"

A Championship side that finished in a play-off position in L2 and got potted by Rochdale.

Fooking Championship side rolfl rolfl rolfl

GH is a grade A cocksocket. Having said that, the side we had in that season, was easily good enough to finish in the top three, and we would have done had it not been for that disastrous injury situation.

Not the point I was making.

I was commenting on the fact the Loids are all giving each other high fives and group hugs that Singh the Saviour has rode in on his white horse without knowing all the facts of the deal.

They've been shafted before, you would think a more cautious welcome would be offered.

They've just appointed Windass as Todds number 2

Now surely he's on a fair size wage and for a club who's just come out of admin throwing high wages around left right and centre will only land you in the same mire as before

And if only other teams had injuries and not just Darlington they could have been in the championship by now.

Of course we wouldnt complain. Its only cos its darlo that eveyone is suddenly acting all holierthanthou.

So, as I read on the other thread, you would prefer teams to be releagetd/liquidated if they go into admin.

I take it you will all have the same view if it happens to us.

Of course you would.

And I take it you ALL wanted Luton, Bournemouth, Rotherham, Darlo, Chester, Stockport etc to all go bust.

Aye........nowt like the little guys sticking together.

So if a club spends what they haven't got and gains an unfair advantage over the other teams you don't think they should be punished?

I know one club who were relegated cos the other team decided when they would take a 10 point deduction. Even though it was that season they gained an unfair advantage. (a loophole now closed). Why should they stay in the higher division? How is that fair?

I would not want any club to go bust including the loids, but there must be some penalty otherwise everyone would be doing it.

I dont know the answer.

But I do know that I would probably think differently if we were in that position.

And who's to say it wont at some point?

Its clearly a very difficult time for a lot of clubs.

I just think, knowing our history, we should be a little more sympathetic.

Maybe we should be more sympathetic. The problem is we'd probably get shafted.

Did Rotherham do the right thing? Were their fans up in arms saying it was wrong?

As for the little clubs sticking together, One answer: Fans United.

All the little clubs really stuck together that day to help save poor little Brighton against the mighty Hartlepool and condemn those giants of football Hereford to the Conference.

I wish it was better, but until the leagues find a way to stop crap, corrupt chairmen taking over clubs in the first place, it will happen again and again.

It's unfortunate for the fans but there must be some sanction.

Over the years we have built up a good rapport with fans from other clubs.

We seem to be getting all bitter and twisted now.

We should just leave the bitterness to others, and continue to have a good rapport with otehr clubs fans.

And we should definitely remember our own chequared past.

Who exactly is getting 'bitter & twisted'?

90% of other league and premier clubs can welcome to the board as far as I care and this is all down to the 'fans united' day

Yes.....I can clearly see you are not bitter, not bitter at all. rolfl

Since when did we, Poolies, suddenly become all holierthanthou eh?

Forget the Darlow bit, they are a one off, and I know why soem of you want them to go bust, but why others?

I thought we were better than that. sadx

You do realise that you have been spending what you haven't got for 10 years? Well you HAVE got it because IOR keep on topping up the bank account. We also HAD it for 2 years, not 10, because GH was throwing money.

The only difference between you and us is that your funder is stable and continues to fund you to achieve at a higher level budget wise than you would normally be able to achieve.

So think on, next time you start on about teams spending what they haven't got because we were spending what we did have like you, except then GH called his debt in.

Why is Windass surely on a fair size wedge.

A 40 year old that is never going to get another good football contract.

A 40 year old inexperienced coach who is about to take his first step back on the ladder at the bottom.

Was Paul Ince on a fair size wage at Macclesfield? I very much doubt it.

Aye but they couldn't leave us in a pile of debt bigger than one seasons losses and the infrastructure they've built is designed to cope with that. When they say there's no more going in, I suspect it's with that possibility in mind.

Which is my point.

If IOR pulled the plug tomorrow and put us into admin do you not think it would have been unfair that we have been in a higher league for 6 (including this one) of the last 7 seasons, while clubs run within budget have struggled?

"The only difference between you and us is that your funder is stable and continues to fund you to achieve at a higher level budget wise than you would normally be able to achieve."

Talk about stating the obvious. It's like spending more than your neighbours and then when when the baliffs come to call saying the only difference between us is he has more money"

As far as I'm aware, we are not accruing debt on debt the way you were. GH was only in it for the land. IOR always said this was a "tax loss" and not some grand plan to be in the Premiership/Championship in 5 years. Singh has come in now. What are his intentions? My original point was that you never learn, every white knight riding in is treated like the saviour.

Get some perspective. We all know where we would be without IOR.
