Erm, WTF for?

He was about to be released by Ipswich, and was free to sign for anyone he pleased. He didn't have to sign anything in advance.

I was just about to say the same thing myself. Add to the fact that he coulldn't sign any pre-contract agreement until 1st of June with any club in the same domestic league according to the rules means that OO is quite possibly talking bollocks.
