thats what I thought but i am not one to argue as know nothing about cars, basically he said the car had been lowered and due to that i needed springs on the back as well, to be honest its about 6ish now so probably were shot anyway.

I have heard York has a nice quick fit, probably going in their with the missus for a cup of tea as broke a a joke now for this weekend, havent spoken to her yet as she is at work, that conversation will be fun.

Something aint right. If your mam had it fronm new then it was lowered as standard and therefore who ever made it fitted the wrong springs?? I dont think so. What car is it?

Im no expert myself but Im pretty sure them Corsas dont come out of the factory lowered. So if your mam aint lowered it then i dont know what he is on about.

Id get a second opinion somewhere else but if he is your mate then its probabaly not needed? He seems to be suggested that your car has always had teh wrong springs fitted? Something just doesnt sound right.

thats what I thought about coming out of the factory, he isnt my mate its a collegues mate but everyone round here says he is the best for vaule and doesnt take your eyeballs out (starting to think I have though). I will quiz him about it later and see what he says, grated it did look lowered when he pointed it out at the front but thats beacuse the spring was fucked.

anyway I only have to put up with this crap car till feb getting my aunts old car she got throught that motorbility thing, its a 3 year old C4 (not the greatest car in the world) but only done 3,500 miles

Agreed, the bloke sounds like he is taking the piss.

You could have slightly different springs on the front/back and unless its a race spec car it wont really matter at all. should just replace the front two or rear 2 (whichever is broke)

Let me guess, mam buys car off someone (presenrable boy racer who swears it's a 'nice' motor) who has 'modernised' the car themselves and been flogging it to death in various supermarket car parks every night along with his other dim mates. Never let yor mam buy you a car.

Them there Corsas go through coil springs like theres no tomorrow. However, why not just change the broken one? Lowered or not, i fail to see why you need all four replacing sctatchinghead

it is a smaller overall length than the standard spring so the car sits lower than normal

So it's got fook all to do with the car. The spring is shortened, the car is lowered, so they call that a lowered spring?
Sorry but I think we're spot on starting an an anti-bad-English campaign

Thanks for the help and thought I would tell you what happened:

Basically the quy thought my car had been lowered as 3 of my springs had gone and this was the reason for the flat tire as spin was rubbing on the inside wall and caused a hole.

All sorted now my stearing no longer knocks and car much smoother to drive over speed bumps and pot holes. Really my fault as didnt notice so dont think he has ripped me off, just bad maintanance on my part.
