It is probably a presumption Poolie 95 has made given that Ct is still at the club despite loads of people telling him to do one!

That may be a touch harsh snowy. he may be called Poolie 95 because he was born in 95 so he may still be at school.

If you listened carefully you could have heard the announcer wishing Poolie 95 a happy 14th birthday at half time during the Leeds game.
No need for capitals mate,we can read ordinary letters on here

Serious point hear (  )

Kids can't fooking spell anymore because of things like text messages, msn, facebook and the like. Pigeon English has almost become acceptable in everyday life, it's how young people communicate these days.

This bastardisation of the English language should be eradicated, if you can't be arsed to spell properly you should be charged double for your text. They'd soon learn to spell and ditch the likes of 'thanx' and 'b4' then!!

Surely we cannot tell a 14 year old to 'f*** *ff' in the usual bunker way though.

It will be nice for me to have someone on here with my level of intellect!

Textese is one step above cave paintings. The English language like most other languages are beautiful things, let's not sink down to the lowest common denominator in the name of laziness eh. is our language to be reduced to this level all because the designers of mobile phones got it wrong.

I agree.

But i don't think it's fair to pick on a 14 year old lad 'cos his spelling of a few words was a bit off.

It's just smart arse like and it's no wonder people think this board has a up it's own arse attitude by some.

Granted hammer him if he talks shit or is POK

That would explain it then. Maybe you could show the lad what the right level of mistakes to have in his post is so he can not be elite but at the same time not have a topic turned into a ripping apart of him? I apologise in advance for any spelling mistakes ive got in there anywhere

Well for a start, I didn't know the lad was 14, but to be frank, I wouldn't have bothered with a reply. I assumed it was another adult with a piss poor sense of English. The piss take I made was hardly assault with a deadly pen and fairly mild by some of the stuff on here. It appears that if you come on here and use every swear word known to man, criticise their parentage and use any other really grossly offensive insult ...it's OK. However, if you use more than one syllable in your posts and express the astonishingly offensive concept that that you don't particularly like 'textese' you are a threat to society as we know it.
I left out the word 'civilised' before 'society' as that may imply a need for the spelling to be correct.

For the 50th time.

Language evolves, it's true. But evolution is a slow process and words have to pass the test of time. No doubt there was some expression in Dickens's day equivalent to "the dog's bollocks", something like "gadzooks I say, what a spiffer", that died the death, as most of the stuff you hear these days will before too long (notice how quaint " 'ellish" sounds nowadays?).
One or two expressions will be prove to be really useful additions to the language and will be kept.

Text speak will not be kept because it will be overtaken by technology. In fact with the smart typing capabilities of moderrn phones I'm surprised anyone still uses it. They probably see the word spelt correctly and think it's the wrong word.

So how about everyone start not using it right now.

Mutley repost that football AM thing, that illiterate dancing Mancunian pisstake.
