OMG, please let that be wrong!

If Mackay has got a new contract then I would expect the majority of the others to get a new contract too. rage

If they send Mackay on a creatine guzzling rugby body building course he might be able to do the business ...

... for West Hartlepool!

Well I'm not particularly pleased that both keepers might be going.

McCunnie was unfortunate - never really managed to make an impact.

Is that it then? Hardly a clearout if you ask me. I suppose with a bit of luck Liddle might refuse.

The released list is certainly smaller than I had expected. We will have to see who accepts the offers of new contracts...

well the way the world is at teh minute, if the players havent got anything lined up, then they will be signing wont they.

a massive clear out, was needed, he's released a player thats been injured, two keepers who were shit, and 2 kids.

Turner is losing the plot. promises a clearout and gives the deadwood contract extension offers. tit

To be fair, a few of them still have time left on their contracts so all we can do is try to sell them or even give them a free. I'm not sure that comes into the scope of the retained list; it's just one of those wait-and-see things.

Of the actual released list, there probably only Mackay who I would have added to it, though if Im honest I think the biggest surprise on it is that Monkhouse has been offered a contract. We all know he can do it but, I just had a feeling he would have been one of those released. Hopefully he will sign and show us all what we know he can do next season.

Boland, being monitored and maybe offered another contract is a bit of a surprise to me as well, I thought with his injuries he was finished at league level.

Lange may well be a good signing if he gets over his injury.

That retained list has only just come in. The last time I went on the website today, the headline was still about Joel Porter's tribute video.

Well, we were expecting something short of a mass exodus and it didn't happen.

Getting rid of both goalkeepers means we can now have a fresh start in the goalkeeping department. I'm glad Turner released Budtz, but I still would have given Lee Barrett a secand chance as second choice goalkeeper.

Unfortunate for Jamie McCunnie - just didn't make his mark.

I hope Rune Lange's made a contract offer when he's recovered.

We had 2 POOR keepers, and you want to keep the worse of the 2.

Budtz is poor but better than Barrett.

Could you see the conversation.

Turner, Sit down Jan

Jan thanks boss

Turner we keeping you on

Jan, great boss thats a surprise, can I ask why

Turner yes Jan your the better of 2 S*** keepers, so it was you

I was certainly expecting a few more names, I'm happy Jones has had his option extended, though I'm surprised that Power was given a 2 year deal and Jones only a 1 year deal last summer.

Anyway, Turner's got rid of them both, so that's the end of it now as far as I'm concerned.

Turner knows far more about how he wants the team to operate. That's why he's caretaker manager and we're not.

Next season is another season.

Do we think Nelson and Monkhouse will sign the offered deals though? I think Gary Liddle will do.

Very dissapointed that the list isnt longer, Theres names not mentioned in there which can only mean they are currently under contract and dont have an issue.

Surprised about Boland, There giving him one more chance to prove his fitness, if he can, he can be a great player for us. But I doubt he will prove his fitness to us

Im completely and utterly gutted. With us releasing so few it does not suggest that we will be signing many. Oh, well 3 defenders for the coming season again!

Which others would you have released, grave?

I would have released Liddle and Monkhouse. 2 players who have struggled with the step up to League 1. I would also have let Boland go for definite.

there is no rule to say that just because we released 5 players, we can only bring 5 in. Turner might be allowed to increase the size of the squad. We have lost 6 players including porter, boland might still go and the players who were offered contracts might not sign. Its feasible we could still get rid of collins, foley etc

I can't see Foley going, just because he's versatile as back-up and wont command a big wage.
Boland and Collins however...

I'm fairly happy with the list - surprised Mackay got a deal but he's probably only on about 400 quid a week with a goal bonus, the lad would probably make more money on a pay per play deal in the non league combined with working full time.

i'd love Boland to be fit for a season but fear it just won't happen, i think we all expect to hear that Pools and Willie have parted in a couple of weeks.

Why? What has he done since we've been in League One apart from turn up for the big games such as West Ham and Leicester?

People are sick of the general attitude and incompetence that has been displayed on a regular basis this season and he epitomises it. We'll see if he wants to stay or not and if he doesn't then good fcking riddance if you ask me. Highly over-rated, largely inefectual and one day he is going to snap someone in half with either his elbow or through one of his kung fu kicks.

FACT! :coool:

Absolutely, he is. He set up two great goals at Yeovil just a couple of weeks ago then played dog sh*te against Leeds.

His attitude is horrible, I really don't like the guy and if he decides to leave I won't be losing any sleep.

Plus his eyes are too far into his head.

and people were saying that 90% needed clearing out after many of the games this season. If people want a new look Pools with better attitudes then he'd be one I'd scatter
