From Mampi's comments about bacon sarnies at cambridge was wanting to know your best and worst food at ground, sort of a bunker colemans football food guide.

Best, well wasnt in ground but had my first pukka pie at rotherham and it was good, also the scouse pies at liverpool are great, seem to remember having a balti pie somewhere but not sure

worst - leyton orient had a bacon sarnie there was god awful, also had a pie at darlo last derby game and it must have been bad as i was drunk as a lord and still didnt want it.

Always enjoyed those hot roast pork, crackling and apple sauce baps in the clubhouse at Lincoln. And I was never disappointed by the sarnies at Cambridge either - just the football.

I wouldn't let my dog eat what they serve at Orient. It certainly tastes like dog.

For real quality and something a bit different, Luton Away. Theres a little shop just around the corner from the Away End near the pub that's basically a "Ready-To-Go" Fast-Food Indian Takeaway. A full bag of Pakoras plus a tub of Chilli Dip for £2....and these things are the real deal, delicious. Myself and Bresslaw stood outside, ate the first bag in 60 seconds and went back in for more.

I spent 20 minutes looking for that shop after you'd talked about it! Then I got thirsty and gave up.

By far the best for me was the pasty I had at Plymouth, followed by the one at Exeter, I had a nice Balti at one of the midlands teams ground maybe Walsall, Scarboro always had nice sausage & chips.

As for the worst, Orient was crap, Brentford my pie was cold and nasty and the rest I was too pissed to take much notice

A fellow 'Poolie who went to Barnet with us the day we lost our 23 match unbeaten run I think, had a pie that was according to him "radioactively hot".

I think he enjoyed it though.

Didn't we win the 'King Pie' award once? They need to get rid of Pukka and have Martin Nowells butchers start doing the pies for Pools.

The food at Gretna was excellent, it was just a shame that you had to queue for what seemed like forever as they cooked everyones bacon sarnie and/or burger to order

Most of the food served inside grounds is poor quality and overpriced. I always try to get something from a shop or supermarket.

The chippies in Hillsborough, Grimsby, Rochdale and Crewe are great. On the High Street in Leyton there is a cushty little asian cafe that does a huge plate of curry and rice for about £3.

I got a steak pie from a bakers in Peterborough town centre which had the most chunky meat I had ever seen in a pie. So I got another one. There's a family bakers not too far from the ground in Shrewsbury which does a great range of unusual pasties - lamb and mint, chicken madras etc - for about a quid each.

I've had loads of other good stuff around the country that I'll probably remember later on.

Chippies anywhere south of Sheffield are generally wank, so I usually get meself a 2 pack of steak slices from the supermarket.

Burgers at Brighton are about £4 and have the taste and consistency of cardboard.

The chips at Pools are alright like.
