Whilst reading a thread of the Loids rivals board about the current predicament they have with George II I had a memory of someone strolling into the directors box (ok it was a wooden fence around the middle section of seats in the Rink End) at the Vic and actually giving Gary Gibson a bat.

I remember witnessing this joyous moment from the Mill House terrace, can't remember who it was against or anything, does anyone else remember this with anymore detail? Or even better know the man who punched him!?

Don't remember that one but when my lad was a mascot against Rotherham in 1994 one of the security guards came over to tell him that geezers were repossessing his car in the car park

If anyone knows who it was we should start a collection to have a statue of the hero put up outside the ground.

This does ring a bell. I remember reading about him being approached by someone who had lent his redundancy money to Pools and confronted Gibson. Maybe that was the same incident you saw.
