As a self-confessed music snob, I fucking love Abba as well. Shame I couldn't be through and see it, I know Richard was looking forward to it.

Couldn't stand them when I was younger but strangely find them more than acceptable now and like you Mr Glasses.

I was amazed to find out just recently that Anni-Frid Lyngstad was a Hitler Aryan youth baby, sired in Norway by a German soldier during the WW2 occupation of Norway and fled to Sweden with her family to escape reprisals for collaborative activities.

Couldn't agree more with the both of you.

I haven't seen the film yet, but although people say it's rubbish, it won a BAFTA, so it's got to be good.

Great lyrics that can be quoted in any context, great musical numbers.

Waterloo is the best. clappp

The Name Of the Game and The Winner Takes It All are also very good. They are all good.

Quite apt really with Turner back at 'Pools:

"The history book on the shelf is always repeating itself." clappp rolfl

Yeah, I meant to see that documentary, but didn't watch it. That's a shame, that.

Mind you, even Hollyoaks looks a lot better these days then 10 years ago, when it looked quite "chavvy" to say the least. I don't watch it regularly but it looks a lot sleeker these days.

I once had a heated debate at 3am outside Sicilianos that ABBA did more for music than anyother band. Not quite sure id have been involved if i werent drunk mind.

I was kind of apathetic to Abba in their heyday, but their music has matured fantastically well.
As far as pure pop music goes it doesn't really get any better. There might be one or two better songs, but it'd be hard to name a better band.

I thought I liked Abba at one time and tried to listen to a 'Best Of' album. What came across was that all the songs were in the same sort of pitch, tempo and phrasing and seemed to merge into one another. It was impossible to listen to a full abum all the way through.

Probably a good singles band and very attractive girls but as an extended listen they weren't for me

Think Abba were brilliant - Fernando for me too. How I got from them to Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden et al I don't know - but there you go

I like ABBA too. Those girls were hot. Everyone always wanted the blond one but you'd settled for the other one if you couldn't have her.
