Superdrug's heartburn and indigestion relief are 6 for 97 pence and always do the job to keep me on the drink.

Ranitidine is the stronger version of Zantac I think, the sort of Special Brew of the fighting of stomach acid world.

It worked for me, I can yet again eat and drink any old shite with the only side effect being excess kite growth, my I had eight pints of premium strength lager and a lamb madras only last night without the slightest hint of acidic bile.

All of this stuff only papers over the cracks. Ulcers are caused by bacteria not fatty foods or curry etc although they do exacerbate the problem. A course of strong antibiotics will get rid of the pain permanently. I suffered with an ulcer for years and spent fortunes on Zantac etc, all to no real avail. Then about 15 years ago I was on a trial at Nottingham Hospital and was given a milk shake type drink followed by a handful of tablets and not a peep out of the ulcer since.

Something that has helped me as well is drinking one 'Actimel' pro biotic drink every morning. It's just a small sort of milk shake drink, they seem to have really worked.
