Got to say we fully deserved the three points. For 75 minutes we were by far the better team. We started brightly with everyone putting in the effort until the muppet of a linesman failed to spot that Yeovil were 5 yards offside for their goal. Infact he struggled to keep up with the last man all afternoon and nearly all his offside decisions were given 10 to 20 yards from the line of the last player. Can't be sure as to how valid our pen was as it was in the opposite corner of the ground but Joel tucked it away nicely. Then he added a second before half time to give Pools a well deserved half time lead. Only the scores from the other games deflated the atmosphere a bit.

At the start of the second half we came out a shadow of the team from the first half and Yeovil were on top and equalised from a free kick into the bottom left which Budtz couldn't get to. Why can't we defend free kicks around the box? Then the game swung back to Pools and we started to boss the game. Nardiello scored with a header and Pools continued to dominate the game and both Collins who hit the bar and Nardiello who dragged a shot wide from around the penaly spot following a good move down the right could have made it more comfortable for Pools.

Why oh why can't the team turn out with this appetite and desire every week. The fans were tremendous today and got behind the lads from the off and closed the game out with ten minutes of "We don't care about Darlo .....". At the final whistle all the players came over to the fans.

There were no star performers today and no-one struggled so no point in awarding ratings. Mom for me was Monky who caused them all sorts of problems and linked up well all game.

Only downside for me was that Joel looked crocked (rather than disinterested) in the second half and apart from the odd burst didn't do his usual chasing.

If only we'd played with this spirit more often we'd have been chasing things at the other end of the table.

A great day out.

Thanks for the report. I've just realised I think I've only missed 5 away games this season: Colchester, Yeovil, Carlisle, Northampton and Swindon.

3 of them have been wins.

"We don't care about Darlo, we don't care about Leeds, all we care about is HUFC."

I've been trying to figure out what tune it's to and it's bugging me. Is it to the tune of Young Folkes?

Turner picked it right today aswell, including substituitions, I think.

He did substitute Ritchie for Clarkey at a defensive corner, which is something the pundits always say is wrong, but I dunno, it came to nowt anyway. But probably the right sub as Ben looked out on his feet after running non stop till then, mostly very productively.

Only ten'ish minutes left when he came on, and alot of that we professionally time wasted (without cheating). He seemed to marshall his position ok, but the team were on top for that period.

Agree with most report in that no star performances just a good all round team performance. Yes linesman missed a 5 yard (minimum) offside for their first goal but also missed nardiello being a good couple yards offside for our winner (swings and roundabouts today)

Disagree with your personnel choice of Monkhouse as MOM thought Nelson was at his immense today when needed and Nardiello did the work off 2 men (covering for Porter) in the last 20-25 minutes. A perfomance from him that showed he was a true professional in that he could have gone through the motions but didn't. Was as if Pools' were his club and not here on loan. Well done Daniel.

For the optimists I think that keeps us safe for this season, for the pessimists and moaners , well lack of posts from them show they probably disappointed we won.

I have not bothered to post as I am just a disloyal fan who could not attend yesterday. My opinion therefore does not count as much as yours.

My moaners was a tongue in cheek statement.

But isnt it funny, that although I didn't mention any particular poster by name, some come on this thread admitting in a roundabout way, just who exactly they are.

Of course it was....

Look at the 'scores on the doors' thread to see how much us disloyal fans cared about the result

PS

Your loyal fans medals are now being pressed, they are as big as dustbin lids

PPS

I feel a fraud for even taking part in this thread, seen as I watched the results come in from the comfort of my front room

PPPS

Well done to Pools yesterday, but anyone who thinks we have been safe for weeks is either on glue, crack, brasso, or all three
