"The frustrating thing is that Scunthorpe are in the top eight and we're in the bottom eight but I didn't think there was a lot of difference between the teams out there today," Turner told Pools World.

are you not bright enough to see when someone is simply trying to pick his players up?

Like the whole lee-barret is one of the best in the division quote..... Its simply to try and keep the confidence up.

I read the comment. You are trying to read between the lines, without actually knowing whether you are right or not.

Their wages, their time off and their fook-easy job should pick them up. Along with the unconditional adoration of us idiots who pile in week after week, if I fook up at work, my boss doesnt tell me how I am the best, he throws fooks into me so I dont do it again !!!!!!

since when could you ever take what a manager says seriously? They never see the red card. The penalty decision is always right if its gone our way and wrong if its gone against us. They hardly ever give a player a dressing down in public and always state their team is potentially better than they really are to build confidence.

They are basically spin doctors when it comes to the press. So basically yes im reading between the lines, but you have to with nearly every single manager.

only manager in current game who generally tell it like it is is gordon strachen if his team were rubbish he says it and thats it, football fans are not fools why do they treat us like such as it cause more animosity to the said manager as everyone thinks he is an idiot

strachan manages a team that wins 85% of its matches. Its ok to kick off now and again. Do that at pools where youre lucky to win 40 percent of matches and you would destroy their confidence. Whether you like it or not confidence plays a huge part in football

They walked through our non-existent midfield at will.

They looked like they could score at will if necessary.

They did what they had to do to pick up a comfortable three points away from home against a pack of pussies.

Chip. They thoroughly outplayed a thoroughly shite pools team. We had a suicidal defence, a none xistant midfield, and two strikers thinking about life away from Victoria park.

They looked likely to score every ime they attacked.

They won all of the second phase ball. Every loose ball was picked up by them.

nds we had two strikers just so keen to give the ball away.

It was shite.

Its all about opinions. We are all entitled to them chip. No need to be offensive.

I watched the whole game, thinking Scunny were gonna score every time they attacked. Dont think I made it up.

I thought Porter and Parker played like girls.

Liddle, Clark, and Jones were utterly pathetic.

Nelson and Collins, are just a comedy duo.

Only Nardiello gave me any hope.

the one thing they did do much better than us was pick up the 2nd ball much more than us (i hate that phrase). Whether that was down to bad play by us or good play from them is arguable.

Of course they outplayed us. Easily.

They had us pinned in our own half for at least 20 minutes of each half as well, and the reason they were winning the 2nd ball all the time is because they wanted the game more.

They were also light years ahead of us fitness wise.

In a nutshell we were outplayed by a far better team who had more of a will to win.

how many goalscoring opportunities did this team that hammered us actually create ?

how many of their players did you think had great games ?

2 poor sides resorting to aimless long balls.

spin it whichever way Chip, they won, we lost, again

I hope Scunthorpe put as much effort in at Northampton next Tuesday. At least with Adkins managing they should. I think he's a very good manager.

I agree, Adkins is a very good manager! He's also a very realistic manager. Thought Scunthorpe kept the ball well yesterday and played some good football aswell. Like someone said they had two 20 minute spells in each half where the ball would not leave our half.

The more I read, the more it sounds like a re-run of Boxing Day, when I thought Scunny were totally nowt special.

Walked through our non-existent midfield at will - yup
Had three chances all game and scored from them all - yup
Suicidal defending - yup
Pools looked just like they couldn't be arsed - yup

i must be in a very small minority then because i thought scunny were pretty crap.

they scored an offside goal, a deflected fluke of a goal, and got a gift from nelson. other than that budz had one save to make and that was from a mistake when he dropped a shot that was straight at him.

two very average sides i thought, theres certainly no way scunny will get promoted.

I was impressed with them. We only created a couple of chances (despite being at home) and they totally bossed the game 15 mins before half time pretty much up to the final whistle. We struggled to get the ball from them and were chasing shadows for long periods

jones is the only one who looked like creating something...he should be in the middle

monkhouse was awful.....and bollocks to this showing passion....he scares the sh!t out of me with the way he goes in for challenges....with his elbows raised the majority of the time

the whole team needs a turn around.....put sweeney out wide where he might actually touch the ball

jones in the middle with a good fit version of boland (i would release due to fitness), rowell involved more often, monkhouse to actually play to his potential every game, brown and lange up front,

liddle not good enough

team for me next year.....not that it will happen and taking into account who might leave

GK - new signing
RB - new signing
CB - Clark
CB - new signing (Hartley??)
LB - new signing
RM - Sweeney
CM - Jones
CM - new signing
LM - Monkhouse
CF - Lange
CF - Brown

Subs - new GK/Budtz, Collins, Humhpreys, Robson, new striker

Nelson can go cos hes been sh!t for ages, Collins would go but no1 will hav him, Liddle is not good enough

basically our squad is piss poor

Nonsense chip. For someone who thinks he knows a lot about football you are obviously more deluded than Turner.
Scunny were a useful looking team who played us off the park for 60-80 mins of the game. Yes, they got a couple of fortunate goals but ours had a touch of good fortune about them too. They were not marginally better than us, they were much better than us and this on our home soil
